8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have one 1st grader at Lindell and a brother about to join him in September. I can't recommend Lindell highly enough. All the teachers seem motivated and invested in the school, the community and the children. It's a real pleasure see how much effort the school puts in to everything it does. The children are blossoming and becoming great and conscious kids, aware and inquisitive. Go Lindell !Parent Review9y ago - Long Beach Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have ZERO idea why this school is ranked with a "6". We moved here from CA and the school has AMAZING classes to take, all the AP and IB courses, the sports are strong, the teachers are good, it is in a beautiful location...I think east coast schools are biased to private schools. This is a great school and you need to change your score.Parent Review2y ago - West Elementary School

What Locals Say about Long Beach

"Sometimes people don’t pick up after their dogs and it looks bad for the rest of the dog owners. Most dog owners do abide by this, but there are a small few who don’t when it rains or when it snows. "
- Andres Vanegas

"Beach two blocks away, lively bar scene, beach town suburbia unlike any other area near by, city is only one hour away!"

"Relatively safe. People are mostly friendly and nice or they mind their business. There are good restaurants, cool bars and we have a beach nearby. The vibe is here is family oriented as well as party depending on where you go."

"Dogs are always welcome and owners are friendly. People generally pick up poop. People throw bread or pretzels in the road to get birds to hang around, so people don’t speed down the street."

"I’ve lived here once with my grandfather and loved it so much that I wanted to move back. Which I did! I’m someone who loves the smell of the ocean coming through my window and know that I have a beautiful scenic route to look, walk or be nearby at whether it’s sunset or sunrise. Most people are friendly and there’s a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. I love that this town has many bicyclists; whether laid back cruisers or competitive cyclists. No matter the weather it’s a beautiful place to live. "

"I think the area of Long Beach is a very nice beach community. It’s a 50 minute commute from Long Beach to Penn Station/NYC. There are now so many residents that have dogs. Some dog owners are not responsible and leave dog waste in plastic bags on or in front of buildings and or other peoples property which is so disrespectful. Some dog owners are good and properly dispose their dogs waste. "
