3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy step daughter went to school here and they were amazing to her. They helped her whenever she needed it/ wanted it. They went up and beyond making sure she was ready to college. They helped her focus to pick a great school for her and to go into the felid she wanted.Parent Review3y ago - Truman Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolutely awful. I would recommend you take your child literally ANYWHERE else. They completely failed my son in his first year in school. They refused to listen to any input I had and then stopped communicating with me all together because I refused to sign off on paperwork so they could get the special education funding while trying to diagnose my son as “disabled: other/unknown”. I had and have no doubts my child was difficult but they didn’t even try. They kicked him out of class almost daily. His teacher would send him to the office because he “would itch too much”. Come to find out going over his paperwork with his new school this year that had my son sitting in a desk by himself in the hallways instead of in his class. HE. WAS. FIVE. YEARS. OLD. Neither his father nor myself were EVER made aware of this. His teacher was a joke, she told me she had been doing this forever and she could handle him only for her to say with complete disgust “I have 20 other kids in my class and they don’t act like that!” (and I have it on recording should anyone at this school actually read this and care to follow up). Unless your child is a perfectly behaved white child, they will be labeled as the problem and attempted to be labeled as special needs. I’m absolutely disgusted with this school district.Parent Review6mo ago - Lackawanna Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had one daughter who went to the middle school and I couldn't believe the change in her grades and effort was. They helped her with her reading and spelling and she was reading above grade average and she ENJOYED it. I'm grateful that we moved to the Lackawanna area just in time to make a different in her life. I currently have a daughter going there and with All thats been going on this year (covid19) I think they have done a great job with the children and trying to make things as normal as they can be. Im proud and grateful my youngest is going here and with all the people around her at school I know she's going to great in the worldParent Review3y ago - Martin Road Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is evident that this school has a team of dedicated teachers and faculty that work diligently everyday to ensure the best education for their students. I have worked in several other school districts in NYS, and this school, has 100% teacher commitment. Although many of the teachers have families and children of their own, they care for their students needs and well being and take into account the hardships that many of them face OUTSIDE of the classroom. I am proud to be part of this team.Teacher Review10y ago - Check out schools near 22 Burke Dr.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
