My son graduated from that school in 2014, he was a straight "A" student, Principal O'Mard was always an excellent Principal, and I as a Parent was always involved in my children's education, just like my father did. The Teachers cannot do it alone, we parents must do our part, the school is not a day care center. Regardless of the teacher's ability to teach , students must stay focus, do their school work and have proper behavior, but again this starts in the home. My son Kadeem Lewis did great at this school and is graduating from Queens college this year, June 2019, as a music teacher with a BA in Instrumental Music Education.

Based off of my interaction with Marlene I will not feel this school is right for my child. Marlene was rude

This school has had some transitions over the past 5 years. Administrations have changed. As of 2023 it is on a better path. There is clear new leadership first with the superintendent and second with the principals that wants the best for the school. There is a new vision, drive and hope for PS176Q. In the transition, the teachers have carried the school through. The teachers overall are very good and care greatly for the success of each student.They have the core subjects, plus Math, ELA, History, Science, STEM and much more. They are currently expanding their optional opportunities for schools from drones to dance to step to coding to so much more. They are also expanding into a lot of project based learning. The PTA team is very good, mighty and focused as it grows to be great.I can see great things for the future if the administration, teachers, parents and students continue to grow towards maximizing the students not only in the district and the city, but to the state and country. The school has great promise and opportunity. May great success occur.
