2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 children that currently attend school in Uniondale. This school district has a plethora of opportunities in all areas. My son attends Lawrence Road Middle School and had all honors classes in 7th grade. He is scheduled to take 3 Regents in 8th grade. There are several school districts in and outside of Nassau county that do not provide this opportunity. I think the best think to do is come to the school and see for yourself. My children are doing well and have been afforded opportunities that they did not have in Catholic school. I work in NYC and several schools in the boroughs do not provide the opportunities in Sports, Arts, Health Professions, Skilled trades etc. that's provided in the Uniondale school district. Are there some kids that misbehave? Yes, but as a parent so long as you instill the value of education in your children and are involved as a parent they will do well.Parent Review1y ago - Uniondale High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHey, Guys don't go to this school. This feels like a prison to everyone. Even if you are a good student with good grades, the security guards are harsh and very rude and hate their jobs. They feel the need to yell at you because they can. You can't go to the bathroom like a normal person & you have 2 minutes in the bathroom and yell when you pass 2 minutes in the bathroom. Also the lunch is very bad & under cooked. In the morning you have to go through metal detectors & bag checks and you have your student Id.s with you or you will have to pay $5 for another one & you get detention, plus it is worse when you are late to school. They do random hall sweeps (that is when the teacher will lock the door & if you are not in the class when the bell rings, the rude security guards will sweep you up to a detention room. They will close off hallways for dumb reasons (like you have a class near a part a hallway is cut off, they will make you walk around the school & make you late even more. Also this school is a big prison cell, where once 2:30 hits everyone runs out the door. This school will make you mental and physically depressed from having 9 periods and as seniors that pack up you with class even you just need 2-3 more classes to take for credit. I think school needs to work making this school a sad and nasty place. I would never come back to this school even if someone paid me a million bucks, that's how bad this school is. There is nothing exciting here and motivation to come to school everyday. Mostly all students here either want to skip school or just drop school because of the treatment here.Student Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 50 Downs Rd.

"There are families in the neighborhood and a few parks that are a very short driving distance. There are a few renters nearby that tend to take up the parking in front of your house rather than parking from up the block where your house is located with vacant spots. "
