8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Kindergarten and what I would say is she had the best Kindergarten teacher. My overall experience with this school as a parent is I am disappointed. The only positive about the school is her teacher, she is truly an amazing teacher and my husband and I cannot extend our deepest gratitude to her in what she has done as a teacher for our daughter. The school is going under going a change, with a new principal. The staff in the building are rude , I am a big believer it starts with the head, if you set that tone they follow that. Besides my daughter exceptional kindergarten teacher the office staff have to learn kindness with parents. I asked the parent coordinator a question she brushed me off to an office staff and the office staff was so rude. Kindness goes a long way. Where I was disappointed with the school is the school does not do a stepping up ceremony for kindergarteners due to budget and not having enough space. I think it’s a poor excuse being that the kiddos worked so hard and such a big milestone and they don’t get that recognition they deserve. Being that the kiddos went through pandemic and remote learning. This year was the first year of normalcy for the kids , I wish the school would have honored them even with a simple cap and diploma. I hope this changes and P.S 174 offers a stepping up ceremony for all kindergarteners just like other schools in the district offer there Kindergarten students . I would definitely say for any event regarding the school if you want any clarity always reach out to the teacher.Parent Review9mo ago - Jhs 190 Russell Sage

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school! I had low expectations at first but it's actually a great school. The learning methods are amazing and they prepare you for any test. The teachers are all kind and compassionate although sometimes they leave a bit too much homework but it's nothing you can't deal with, after all, it prepares you for a high school and college environment. Yes, it is stressful sometimes but get used to it. Every school is stressful, procrastination is very common but you manage to get along very well. Now, I am in honors and the students I know are all respectful. I don't know about the other classes if they get bullied. However, I am very sure, that when a kid gets bullied and tells the dean or a teacher, the situation is handled excellently. Yes, the environment is also completely different from elementary schools but ignore it. Kids that age behave differently as they go through change, some are even annoyingly vulgar, don't lose your cool (it's not worth it) Find some good friends who you can trust are responsible and together, you will definitely thrive. Also, don't just focus on studying and not form any friendship because you think they will distract you. I did that in the first year. Awful. I couldn't keep up. With friends, if you have any doubts on a subject, ask for their help. everyone must help each other.Student Review3y ago - Check out schools near 99-44 67th Rd #4A.

"We’ve lived here 5 years. Before Forest Hills we were were residents of the West Village who outgrew our apartment of 10 years. In looking for our next place to call home, we considered NJ and Westchester suburbs. I’m so grateful we gave Forest Hills a look. It’s like the suburbs inside the city. "

"Flushing Meadows Corona Park is just nearby. Lots of playgrounds and schools in the neighborhood. Most importantly it is a safe neighborhood. It also has more trees and green accents than most of other neighborhoods in Queens. The playground located by Grand Central Expressway has a tennis court and athletic field with volleyball court and track among other parts. Also the neighborhood is a walking distance to Forest Park. Great area for kids. "
