10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Dunne and her team navigated McVey Elementary through some very difficult years during COVID. More importantly, they kept our school open far longer than most schools were able to manage and remote learning was as good as it could be. I am very grateful for her support through some difficult issues and for the great work that the majority of the teachers achieve for their students. Parents are very involved and it is a model school for a community standard.Thank you Ms. Dunne, Mr. Minerva and the great teachers there. I have a son that is well prepared and went to 6th grade and another son that is currently at McVey. We moved to East Meadow for our boys to have a better education in a safe and warm environment and we are not disappointed!Parent Review1y ago - Woodland Middle School

"The commute around town is good no traffic basically but Hempstead turnpike has a little congestion around rush hour. On main roads public transportation is always on time and plenty. Very close to three major parkways who has lead you to all a north and south of the island and also toward the city and of course out East. Very convenient "

"lived in east meadow 12 years now. the school district is in the top 50 in the nation. 90% of people are nice. lots of kids. everyone is making small homes big and the fire ems and police of the area is fantastic. the hospital is a regional trauma center and does everything and anything. TONS of greatttt food. town pool with quite a few parks. great place to live."

"Great access to shopping such as Wal-Mart Shop and Stop and Shop Home Depot etc. Far enough away to feel like a quiet neighborhood. Eisenhower Park right there. Meadowbrook school highly rated."

"McVey elementary school bus pick up is at the corner, and middle school Woodland bus pick up is 1block over. Close to all, supermarket, library, fire house, pizza, eatery, gym, peaceful living. Nice spacious yard. Great house to raise a family in! "
