Parent Review6y ago - High School for Arts and Business

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am happy to see a principal so dedicated to helping students be the best they can be. The staff are very warm and passionate about their work and that's what makes a great environment for learning. However, the students have to do their part by wanting to succeed because the teachers can do but so much. One change that I would like to see is more dedication to reading as this is where students also gain knowledge to other pertinent information not taught during class. I often ask my child to read but if the school instill this criteria it will force students to as well. Overall great school.Parent Review10y ago - Ps 28 Thomas Emanuel Early Childhood Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible, my daughter has issues with her speech, I've mentioned this in the beginning of the year, no action was taken, I noticed my daughter was also very distracted while doing her homework asked for advice from her teacher which didn't have any to give other than that she would send me materials on it, she never did, she constantly says my daughter is doing well in school but her progress report has below on everything but homework also gets a letter that she may be getting held back, how is it that she is doing good and I get that letter, I called the principal asked for a meeting and instead wanted to discuss the issue over the phone, I mentioned that I much rather have a face to face meeting as to why no help has been offered to my child.....she Than responded with the fact that they follow a protocol that all students that are having trouble with speech are tested as a group at a certain time of the year....yeah right!! When my child is near failing is when you try to get help. Not a great school at all, also has dismissal at 2:40pm and closes the gate at 2:42pm doesn't allow any time to get your child and also works the same way in the morning, it's a terrible school and I can not wait to get my daughter out of it!!!Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 43-20 Junction Bouleva.

"this is like a mix of good and bad. let me explain, on my way to work there is plenty of room for smooth walk to the train station but with a sence of loneliness. At the train station is so crowded with student, bystanders and the working force. again it feels lonely. coming back from work is the same process as before but with the same feeling of loneliness. Very crowded city but with a sence of loneliness. "
