"Not all of the schools are bad regardless of the levels. Some blocks are worse than others. Stuyvesant Ave is quite and Tompkins Ave is very mixed and you’ll find plenty of bars. There are good people here but many are private which may seem like they’re being antisocial. Don’t be surprised at the gun shots and fighting that may go on. Lots of gang tension (if you’re involved). Up and coming neighborhood but it’s still Brooklyn. "

"Bedford -Stuyvesant aka the Stuy has been my home since 1994 a lot has changed but we still remain a community. You now have a mix of old school and new school but it’s all love still. Community events, corner stores, restaurants they all know u by face regardless. Schools and youth activities as well for the children throughout the year "
