4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average3 of my children attend, 2 have IEPs, 2 of my nieces came here, and myself as well as 4 of my siblings. Over the last five years while my children attend the school, I have seen increasingly bad behaviors, bullying, including with all of my children being bullied and nothing gets done. I have seen cases multiple emails to no resolution. The learning environments are chaotic and my kids constantly tell me how hard is it to focus while children are running up and down the isles of the classroom and constantly talking back to teachers. there is no behavior regulation no true punishment if your child gets bullied. Physical hitting , hate letters to my second grader how they wish he was dead. The vision is supposed to be positive but falls short big time. The PTA leans heavily to the left and if you share any other view expect to be targeted with hate words. I understand now why there have been so many parents unhappy with this school. It has changed and the change is fueled by the heavy gentrification of the neighborhood and the disparity on how much you can give monetarily and in time. While I am looking into other school to transfer my children out, I am also considering home school. The feeling of safety on a physical, emotional and intellectual level for my children is no longer there.Parent Review2mo ago - John Ericsson Middle School 126

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a former student of JEMS 126 and the school almost changed my personality. The students did nothing more than used me for answers for their assignments and I was usually bullied because I’m autistic, my self interests such as learning various subjects or my mixed ethnicity. Some of my former female classmates even teased me if I was gonna be dating or not, which I never found funny. One of them even kept kicking my bag because it has wheels. For me, distance learning was a blessing in disguise since I don’t have to come to school under fear of harassment, violence, or humiliation. Now in high school, my classmates respect me of my choices, my interests, and above all, my ethnicity. I even have an IEP so I can learn just as well as other students.P.S. I used a randomly created name on an alternate email account to anonymize my identity.
