Description

SHOWING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Stunning, gut-renovated single-family townhouse with landscaped backyard and private roof deck on the most charming block in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
Originally constructed in 1905, this incredible 2800+sf home was beautifully re-imagined and elevated to total luxury in 2022. No expense was spared on this painstaking renovation, employing traditional details like custom millwork, inlaid floors and other accents that pay tribute to a bygone era, set against a contemporary canvas with every modern amenity one could wish for.
The spacious and airy parlor floor boasts an open concept and versatile layout, featuring a large living room, formal dining area, fully equipped chef's kitchen, and a powder room. An abundance of natural light pours in through the south-facing bay windows in the front and flows to the sun-soaked kitchen that opens out to the enormous backyard and patio to the north. The oversized kitchen is every chef's dream, nicely appointed with custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, and a kitchen island with waterfall Quartz countertops. Adding a touch of elegance throughout this home are the striking, wide plank hardwood floors with detailed inlays on the parlor level.
On the second floor is the primary bedroom, which faces south through three large windows overlooking serene, tree-lined Winthrop Street. With a plenty of room for furniture, a lavish en suite bathroom and ample closet space, it's a little piece of heaven. Overlooking the garden in the back are two additional, well-sized bedrooms, each with a roomy closet. A gorgeous second bathroom and two additional linen closets complete this level.
The third floor has a fourth bedroom with a large closet that doubles nicely as a den or home office and opens out onto an expansive private roof deck. The finished basement – an ideal spot for a home gym, office, or playroom – is outfitted with a spacious laundry room, an additional powder room, plenty of extra storage and a mechanicals room housing the brand-new HVAC system.
251 Winthrop Street is situated in the best pocket of the neighborhood, with a real community feel, block parties and other events put on by a wonderful group of friendly neighbors. At only a few short blocks from Prospect Park, a 2-minute walk from the 2 and 5 Trains, with other transport easily within reach, and a plethora of amazing restaurants, cafes and shops abound, you will be delighted to make this incredible turnkey townhouse your new home.

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood directly facing Prospect Park for 12 years. The neighborhood has wonderful attributes with access to the park, Botanical Garden, Zoo, library and museum being very high on the list. Many aspects of the neighborhood have deteriorated as well. The entrance to the park area has crime, homelessness, littering and over crowding in the warmer months. We are leaving this neighborhood after suffering many of these issues. Mainly our dog has become very anxious because of all-night sound and fireworks throughout the summer nights. If you have no dog and no young babies it is worth checking out."

"It’s better than some for sure. Gorgeous view of the Brooklyn Bridge when you cross the east river via the Manhattan Bridge B/Q. Both lines run fairly well and are rarely so crowded that you can’t get on. It is still commuting in New York, however, so delays are coming because the MTA is in disrepair and is struggling to deal with the volume of travel. "
