Description
This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
Spanning the entire second floor of one of a very few prewar condos in landmarked Cobble Hill, this exceedingly special three bedroom, two bathroom home is everything one hopes for when they imagine life in Brownstone Brooklyn. Exposed brick, a wood burning fireplace, gorgeous hardwood floors, a sparkling kitchen and beautifully renovated master bathroom, views of townhouse gardens awash in afternoon sunshine from three exposures, a stunning, quiet treelined block...it's all here, and then some.
Enter this 1450 square foot home to find a living room and dining area that is as practical as it is romantic. The extra-wide space is bathed in sunlight from its three Warren street-facing windows, and the space allows for multiple configuration options, each providing room for dedicated dining and living spaces. The centerpiece of the space is the wood-burning fireplace flanked by elegant whitewashed exposed brick, just beyond which is the lovely kitchen whose south-facing window illuminates the entire front of the home late in the day.
Follow the pristine hardwood floors down the winding hallway to find closet space-galore, an in-unit washer/dryer, along with the first two bedrooms and full bathroom. The master bedroom is at the end of the hall and has both western and southern exposures, a perfectly renovated windowed en suite master bathroom and views of townhouse gardens. The sense of solace and quiet in the rear of this home is so rare, you'll forget you're in New York.
240 Warren Street is an intimate 5-unit prewar CONDO with exceptionally low monthlies and a community vibe that is noticeably absent in all of Brooklyn's new developments. Shopping and restaurant options abound on Court Street, Smith Street and beyond, and the F/G trains are just a block and a half walk, while the 2/3/4/5/R trains are a mere 10 minute walk to Borough Hall. Pets, unfortunately, are not allowed.
This is a genuinely rare home in as highly sought-after a neighborhood and as wonderful a block as there is in all of New York City. Showings begin at the first open house on Sunday, November 10th.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has proven to offer zero support and motivation to students to help strengthen their goals. The majority of staff aren't provided with tools which enable success. This seems directly related to the principal's hands off attitude. The lack of mentors & resources that should be offered are replaced with ethical dilemmas. Students aren't prepared for the next year's work or college! For Juniors, there is a bare minimum foundation to encourage students to attend college. Bare minimum information on different colleges, what they offer, and very little about fasfa help and possible internships. Students need to research and sort this out on their own or with their parents. As for the uniforms? It is NOT Enforced. As for safety, the "School Safety Officers" sit draped in the lobby chair and fail to ask for identification of anyone entering the building. They just ask to sign in any random names and they are allowed entry into the school building. Adding, during dismissal, they remain hovered in the school doorway due to the cold weather, instead of patrolling the designated areas (perimeters) of school buildings &surrounding areas during the morning and afternoon dismissal interacting with students to create a cordial space. Look at surrounding schools where the school safety agents' actually perform their duties as per their job descriptions and create a respectful space for students. The environment needs supervision.Other Review1mo ago - Ps 29 John M Harrigan

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an upcoming 8th grader at this school I’d say for as many good teachers, there are twice as many bad teachers, this school prides itself on diversity while only having one Asian teacher in the whole middle school. The new principal and vice principal are constantly making unnecessary changes without feedback from students that make the school feel more like strict private school rather than a fun learning environment. I’ve made so many friends at this school but there have been a lot of bad moments as well. During school shooter lockdowns which happen frequently the school barely communicates with parents and instead of fixing problems that actually matter they decide to implement things like teachers escorting students to lunch and having to “earn” the right to eat lunch outside of the school, to be honest and frank this school would’ve been a great decision a couple years ago but now with the overwhelming amount of rules it isn’t worth it. You light think I’m just a petty student but these things are real issues that are happening right now ESPECIALLY with the mis-communication with parents during school emergencies!!Student Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 240 Warren St #C.

"It’s not too trendy but has all the amenities you’d want in a Brooklyn neighborhood like shops and restaurants and dry cleaners. Feels very “neighborhoods” and I know several of my neighbors. We deliver each other’s packages and watch each other’s cats when we go on vacation. Things like that. Also feels pretty safe. "
