9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey keep deleting the negative reviews they get. This school is not child friendly and the teachers in younger grades do not understand child development. They spend a lot of time shaming kids, humiliating them in front of other students and their parents, and labeling them as special needs the second they don’t conform immediately to their rules. If you are BIPOC please avoid.Parent Review8mo ago - Is 136 Charles O Dewey

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI applied this year (2022) as my first choice high school to this high school but was waitlisted at the school for any reason that I know of and I don’t have the patience to wait for an seat or wait for another year to get into the school. I should have gotten into Sunset Park high school but I didn’t get it. The only redeeming thing is that I have friends who are going there starting next year but I don’t know if I will be seeing them or now. The waitlist of the school is ineffective and very slow.Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 118 32nd St.

"Greenwood is so beautiful. The only thing I hate abt here is that it’s so expensive and it’s so hard to find a place to park ur car. But if you have the money and patience to own a car and find a parking space this is the right place for you. There’s rlly good nearby schools I attended ps295 and new voices which is in the same building and I absolutely loved my time there"

"There is a nice playground. Many elementary and middle schools. That’s all. No ice cream places or toy stores in the area . It’s dirty everywhere. Some People are nice , but there are loud music and noisy in the night sometimes. "

"Green word is such a beautiful place to live. It’s not noisy might be cause of holidays but that’s it. Safe at all hours and days. Close to transportation. I live near 5th ave and always take the R or B63. But it is a hard time to find a place to park your car and it is expensive but if you have the money and have patience with finding parking then this is the right place for you. And it’s close to schools if you have kids "

"You cannot take your dog into Greenwood cemetery so I’m commenting on the person who said people don’t pick up after their dogs in the cemetery. In general, many people do not pick up after their dogs past 6th Avenue down to 4th between 15th street and 23rd. It’s a problem. We have dogs and continually pick up after people when our dogs go in an effort to keep our streets clean. "
