5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my son's 2nd year at Roy H. Mann. Unfortunately Covid-19 knocked out almost a year of in-person learning, one-on-one with teachers, social activities, etc.. My son coming from a grammar school with high academic skills, it was tough for us to actually accept and settle down based on so many negative prior reviews. However, we did, and I advised my son to stay focus and told him that he can be anything he wants to be wherever he goes. He is focused, but it's kind of funny how parents gravitate towards the so-called 'better schools and neighborhoods' not thinking that they can help to make a difference wherever they go.I have been on all the PTA Meetings and serve as a SLT member at other meetings of this school and I must say that there is poor representation of the parents at the PTA meetings, so my question is, why do people complain or find so many faults if they are not stepping up to try to make a difference? I find the Principal, the Vices, Deans, Teachers, Paras, the entire Bd. of Educators at this school to be approachable, friendly, helpful and they get back to you with any concerns or questions unlike the 'Prep' school my son came from.Listen people, you and I, we make the difference, so if you need to see improvements at this school, let it start with us and our kids - plain and simple! Be proactive in the school! Ask Questions! Meet out to teachers if you have concerns or call the office! Do something instead of saying something - that's negative!Parent Review2y ago - Jhs 278 Marine Park

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei went to this school for 3 years and my experience was amazing apart from certain experiences. academically i strived and did amazing. scoring with most As and 1 or 2 Bs. With its sports and other activities the school is great to. I played volleyball for 2 years at the school and i looked forward to every game and every practice and dreaded the end to my seasons. the teachers that ive met are mostly very nice and helpful and try their best to help the student with whatever necessity they have. the student that i have met going to this school are amazing and im still in touch with some of them. being a muslim, person of color, bisexual female i have to say i felt very respected and never felt any hate against me. however, i was sexually harassed but it was way after school hours and no camera was there to catch anything. the people were students in my grade that i had an argument with but i chose not to report it and im sure if i had the school would do their best to help. sending your kids here is a good idea because they will find friends that will work for them and teachers that have dedicated themselves to education.Other Review2y ago - Midwood High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible in dealing with personal issues (sexual assault and stuff) and unsafe environment with minimal security that doesn’t stop intruders from entering. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was here for first and second grade she had Ms. Fontaine and Mrs. Aris. They were amazing teachers. Mr.M was extremely helpful the guidance counselor also the principal and assistant principal was very understanding and really helped. This is a really great school and care about the kids. Only problem we had it had no G&T program so this is why we left. Over all the school made you feel like family. My daughter loved it here, we miss it!Parent Review1mo ago - Jhs 234 Arthur W Cunningham

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll my children graduated from cunninham, and time to time the school is getting more dangerous, a lot of things changed, specially the safety, the school principal and all the staff members care 0% about kids safety, starting from the front desk, disgusting people working as school safety police... they are so bad to parents, I really feel very sad about how is the school now, kids are very aggressive, and violent... no respect to anyone. And school do.. nothing about it.Parent Review1mo ago - Ps 315

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love PS 315. My son is happy in 1st grade at the school. His teachers strive to make the class engaging and interactive. I'm amazed by how much he is learning this year. He has music, art, dance, gym and even has a weekly class with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. The school community is very welcoming and warm. The PTA is growing and there are many ways to get involved. An amazing, large new playground will be finished in May - with new equipment, a track, basketball and outdoor classroom. The school Administration is really responsive to the parents.Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 1060 E 22nd St.
