3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Throop from K-5, and graduated in 2020. I felt that she had received a well-rounded education from Throop. All her teachers were friendly, kind, and respectful. My daughter is currently in grade 8 and she still remembers all her teachers from Throop. After Throop, My daughter attended the Honors program at MS 181 for one year until she got accepted at Hunter College High School starting at grade 7. She is almost done with grade 8 and she is doing exceptionally well at Hunter. I feel her continued success can be partly attributed to the foundation she received at Throop. So, if any teachers at Throop are reading this, Thank you. Your efforts continue to bear fruits even years after your kids leave you.Parent Review11mo ago - Jhs 144 Michelangelo

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI Love the way the teachers at this school have taken an interest in my daughter, saw her potential and pushed and encourage her to be the best that she can be. They let her believe in herself, make me believe that she is quite capable to excel in her personal academic studies. She is reaching for the stars and i know that they are behind her 100%.Parent Review1y ago - High School of Contemporary Arts

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a temporarily assigned teacher there for several months. I enjoyed the stay there. I felt the principal was very nurturing and committed to the students. His door was constantly open and the students felt comfortable going to him. The only issue I noticed was that the school had several Art genres when it started and are now down to a few. The directory has not been revised and may be misleading to students.Teacher Review12y ago - Pelham Gardens Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePelham Garden Middle School is a hidden gem in the Bronx's District 11. The administrators, teachers, and staff are extremely supportive, going above and beyond to help all students succeed academically, as well as in the social-emotional aspect. They take students' safety seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. If you are looking for a well-rounded education for your child, PGM is the school for you. They offer challenging, hands-on curriculums, extracurricular activities, and after-school programs that will help elevate your child's critical thinking to the next level. It is gratifying to see students fully engaged in their learning, in a fun and safe environment. Thanks to PGMS, my daughter's future looks brighter than ever. She graduated with four regents exams and is now attending a six-year summer program at New York University. I call PGMS our 'Specialized Middle School in the Bronx. I would not be surprised if they become a Blue Ribbon School in the near future. Keep it up, Panthers!!.Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 2939 Hering Ave #1.

"Honestly the area is not how it was when I grew up and I’m just trying to move away from here. The school is just a mad house and the high school is no better your gonna have to put you kid in catholic school. The rents are crazy high and the houses are over priced. Lots of kids that hang out in the area. "
