This school allowed my son to be bullied for years. The bully would continously attack my child, openly and would verbally threaten to end his life and still the school gave no consequences to that student and did the bare minimum to help my child feel safe. This school is very unorganized and the principal made promises to my child that she couldn't keep like seating accomodations to help my child feel safe and away from the bully. They have not shown they care for my child nor his mental health. Everyone acknowledges that my child isn't the issue, the bully openly does it and ultimately nothing is done.

This school has been a great place for my children to learn. I have found the staff to be accommodating, understanding, and professional. All my questions are answered. Whenever I have reached out to staff about activities to support learning, I have received many recommendations and good feedback. No, it's not a perfect school, and no school is perfect. However, I find that any effort I put in, the teachers take and run with it to help my child succeed. I feel we are a team. Finally, this school is a positive place. Other places that I have visited just didn't have the same vibe. I have consistently been treated with respect at PS 97.

I Love the way the teachers at this school have taken an interest in my daughter, saw her potential and pushed and encourage her to be the best that she can be. They let her believe in herself, make me believe that she is quite capable to excel in her personal academic studies. She is reaching for the stars and i know that they are behind her 100%.

Pelham Garden Middle School is a hidden gem in the Bronx's District 11. The administrators, teachers, and staff are extremely supportive, going above and beyond to help all students succeed academically, as well as in the social-emotional aspect. They take students' safety seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. If you are looking for a well-rounded education for your child, PGM is the school for you. They offer challenging, hands-on curriculums, extracurricular activities, and after-school programs that will help elevate your child's critical thinking to the next level. It is gratifying to see students fully engaged in their learning, in a fun and safe environment. Thanks to PGMS, my daughter's future looks brighter than ever. She graduated with four regents exams and is now attending a six-year summer program at New York University. I call PGMS our 'Specialized Middle School in the Bronx. I would not be surprised if they become a Blue Ribbon School in the near future. Keep it up, Panthers!!.
