3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school for a wide variety of learners and learning styles. Both our kids have enjoyed it, from very different perspectives. The whole staff works hard to reach as many kids as possible. A few brilliant teachers and many wonderful ones, as well as a really strong administration. This school offers a Learning Lab night where parents and kids can try out baking, crazy science experiments, art projects. And everyone loves the 8th grade dance. Lots of enrichment possibilities, many choices. I love that despite the awful mandated state tests, they are keeping fun and invention alive at this school!Parent Review9y ago - Woodrow Wilson School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former substitute and current teacher (of 5+ years- not in BCSD) I can truly say the lack of leadership and disrespect from the principal was unimaginable. I had items locked in the teachers lounge stolen by students and her lack of empathy was unprofessional. I hope they have placed someone new in the position. Great students and some great teachers. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe bottom of the barrel. Don't listen to the administrations defensive spiel about how well they do with so little. It's a really lousy school. A really lousy curriculum. There is nothing the good teachers can do to make it a better place. The curriculum is terrible. The longer your kid is in the Binghamton school system the further behind the kid will be compared to those enrolled in school districts in communities that are not failing. Binghamton City is an economically depressed dump with no hope for anything better and that rubs off on the kids too. It's is dead end for kids. Kids who would have gotten into the best colleges in the country had they been enrolled in a decent school system end up at BCC if they are lucky or as DO's if they aren't. The kids classified as poor and underserved in other communities do better than those from wealthy homes in Binghapit. Kids learn nothing there. The longer your kid is in the Binghamton school system the further behind they are compared to kids in reasonable communities outside the Southern failing tier. Vestal isn't better. All the schools are deficient but Binghamton is the most deficient. if you care about your kid, you'll put your child into a better system. Unfortunately it's nearly 100 miles to any that are better. Failing communities have failing schools and failing kids. Binghamton schools are backwoods, backwards and horrific.Parent Review1y ago

"About 15-20 minutes from anything. Not too overwhelming at 8am but is at 4:30pm. Neighborhood is lit up so it makes you feel safer and we know most of our neighbors "

"Takes no more than 7 minutes to get to closest Walmart. Grocery store less than 2 minutes away. Downtown is less than 2 minutes. All by car"

"I would not reccomend raising a family here. I'm 21 born and raised, went to Binghamton High. I personally won't have kids here and plan to relocate next year, schools and kids around here aren't the best. Lots of bad influences. don't reccomend living here."

"I drive but I see the bus as well as ppl walking to downtown which is a short walk. The bus route becomes scarcer the farther you become from downtown but if you need it, it’s available "

"I've live in Binghamton going on 7yrs now on Johnson Avenue on the West side where i can walk to work to Lourdes Hospital. It is a very picturesque block, tree lined, so clean, so quiet, the people are friendly, easy going and helpful. It so comforting to know that people care...."

"This is not a place to raise children in. Drugs, violence, theft, and vandalism runs rampant here. The schools are deplorable. It is not a safe place for families, and continues to get worse. Which is why my family and I are moving elsewhere."
