9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has gone downhill in terms of safety since our older daughter graduated. My younger child was harassed, stalked and threatened by another student and nothing was done. A certain science teacher singled my child out for helping a classmate in need, the 8th grade AP wanted to file an oors, even though none were filed last year and my child was in danger.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 186 Castlewood

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll my 3 kids went to Castlewood and they enjoyed it and have fond memories of the teachers there (Ms Mia, School officer Mrs Zuly etc..) I am so happy they have a new principal (way overdue !!!). Mr. McLaughlin is certainly a positive change from prior Principal hdry - as everyone is smiling again and cheerful with each other. Great school to put your kids in based on what I SEE as the current choice of Principal and the helpful and interactive teachers!Thx!Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 245-35 76th Ave #1.

"I have lived in this neighborhood for over 20 wonderful years. neighbors are friendly, caring, and care fortheirproperty. it's a great neighborhood for children. holidays are special especially during Halloween where the streets filled with trick or treaters. Christmas time is a wonderful time in Bellerose many families put Christmas lights in their homes. one year there were even Christmas carolers. you can't make this up. Bellerose is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Our school system is district 24, wonderful school system. my son graduate from Bronx science HS after completing Public elementary and public middle school. The local library is awesome for children and teenagers. They offer reading clubs, story hours for tots, and chess clubs for teenagers. I could go on and on. Bellerose also had a strong active civic community. The New Yorker magazine even wrote a piece on this hidden jem. "
