"I've lived in astoria for a year and I like it, because it's close to the city, there's a lot of gastronomic variety"

"Very easy! There’s different choices when it comes to transportation. Trains , buses, and lots of taxis. Astoria is the best part of Queens."

"Congested! A commute of 35 minutes to midtown turns into an hour or more during rush hours. Massive train delays."

"Great parks for running or walking dog. Bad for parking unless you get space and pay for that. Nice bars and restaurants overall a very good neighborhood and would recommend living here "

"20 mins commute into the city. At most. The Astoria boulevard station has been closed for a couple of months, but supposedly should be opening up soon. "

"There is a shelter in upper Ditmars that makes the community very special in these days . Parking is becoming difficult since people from Long Island park their car here and take the train to the city . "

"There are a lot of good quality dog waking services and boarding facilities in the area. A lot of restaurants have outdoor seating in the warmer weather so you can bring your dog. There is a dog park. You might find a lot of restrictions in some apartment building for allowing dogs. There could be more dog friendly places around but it seems to be growing yearly. "

"People don’t pick up after their dogs as much as they used to and there are a lot of owners that take their dogs off their leash after the allowable hours. Wish these owners were more responsible and better neighbors. Positive is that there are slot of dogs in the neighborhood so there is a strong community for dog owners. "
