3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis School is a amazing school teachers are nice, and try their very best to make learning much better. I have been in this school for 2 years so far, fights aren't common. Teachers are nice, I made friends with a teacher during the first days. Teachers like Mr.Kelly are one of the most favorite teachers in the whole campus. Learning here is very fun, Math was one of my very hated class. The truth is I now like it because the teachers make it worth it. ---Submitted by a StudentOther Review9y ago - Valley High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is nice however the new principal cares only about the reputation and pleasing other than actually making this school a better, safer, and educational institution. A lot of the performing arts programs are dying out slowly. Its sad to be apart of it and seeing such great programs such as Mariachi and Orchestra die out. The students here are entitled, and rude. Especially towards teacher complaining to them about “difficult” assignments and pushing further due dated even though they do have enough time they get easy work it is the laziness of students in this school and the entitlement of these students thinking that everything should go their way, and a lot of the times if not always it does go their way. There is boys in the girl’s locker room, their Physical Education class (Gym) is a mess. Half of their staff don’t even know each other. The Folklorico teacher is rude and very unorganized. This school allows their dance students to twerk and dance very sexualized dances. The lunch food is disgusting, programs are favored such as STUCO, band, and dance are more funded and taken care of more than other programs that is why other programs are dying out. Teachers swear in their classrooms, a lot of the teachers don’t even teach, students are disgusting they leave their trash everywhere this school does not enforce any rule at all they only take away rights of students and expect them to understand that is a consequence or why they even took it in the first place. The dress code is horrible, there is girls wearing extremely tight clothes, barely any clothes, all of them wear crocs and sandals despite the dangers especially in science or physical classes. Oh? How could I forget? This school waits last minute to tell their students the many opportunities they can get such as the graduation colors, dual-credit classes, honors classes, the classes they need to graduate, the types of classes they need to take for their career’s, that they are missing credits, that they can’t graduate they stop 20 STUDENTS FROM WALKING IN THEIR GRADUATION FOR THE 2023 GRADUATION CEREMONY!!! This school is completely unorganized and disgusting, it was a really good school before 2020.Other Review2mo ago - Howard E Hollingsworth Elementary School

"Huntridge is an historic neighborhood, part of downtown and Fremont. Life is Beautiful events, parades, museums. "

"It's by the Arts District. All parades happen in walking distance. The weekends are always busy with people coming to the local shops."

"Traffic once you get away from the houses. It’s downtown, and the city is always reconstructing something. "

"I wouldn't recommend bringing the kids to this area to trick or treat. It's more adult oriented. "
- Juan S.
- Resident
- 3y ago
"Not the best area for raising kids. Lots of homeless people roaming around and trespassing on a daily basis. There’s not much respect for private property in this area. It’s city living so it’s pretty “normal” I guess? "
- Juan S.

"Lots of people walk their dogs but don’t pick up after them. Especially in the rougher areas which makes it look a bit more run down than it already is. "

"I don’t have a dog but I assume people that do own dogs enjoy walking them around the neighborhood. "
- Kenna C.

"This area is nice for younger people or people that are here for the night life. I’ve lived here about 6 months and enjoy it. But would like more of a homey feeling that this place doesn’t have. "
- Kenna C.

"I’ve lived here for about 4 months. I feel safe walking at night sometimes. It’s a little bit of a pricey area which is annoying but I love it. It’s very up and coming. "

"The neighborhood is popular with tourists and locals. There is great restaurants downtown and plenty of shopping. "

"There are a lot of dogs that are taken for walks each day. Little dog to large dogs. There’s no grass or parks nearby so the dogs just have a concrete jungle walk. It gets prettier when you start to go to wards the neighborhood where the attorney offices are located. "

"I love it down here. I’ve been here for 11 years and never had a single problem. It’s quiet, mostly, and there’s a real sense of community here. The neighborhood is growing rapidly as well. "

"Local bars, an old scary downtown turning into a fun exciting place to be. Eventually it will be livable w/kids but not quite yet. Adults that love art, music, festivals, restaurants and bars, this is your place "

"it is pet friendly and very quiet neighborhood but the neighbors are a different story LOL close to everything within walking distance "
- Lanette M.

"Downtown Vegas is an area in search of its identity. It is caught between the nostalgia of "Old Vegas", the legal / political / civic center of a metropolis and a trendy gentrification complete with funky eateries and housing. "
- Lanette M.

"This is downtown Las Vegas... cool place to live for young adults but not ideal for children. Fremont street is 2 blocks north and there are lots of events... Be prepared to be patient as traffic is horrible during Life is Beautiful or the many running events and parades. "

"Fremont Street always has things going on. it's what makes living in this area so awesome. there is life is beautiful, bike fest so much here."
- Adali M.

"The Mayfair area of downtown has a lot of young families. But there aren’t necessarily any parks close by and the only public school that downtown has is extremely overcrowded. Downtown is definitely not child friendly."
- Adali M.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"Downtown is definitely more suitable for young adults with no children. The closest reasonably priced grocery store is an Albertsons that doesn’t necessarily have a wide variety of products. And although there are bus stops and access to taxis or ride sharing services, I personally can’t fathom not having a vehicle to get around, especially in this 100+ heat."

"Love it! Everything about the neighborhood and the atmosphere is amazing! The weather is always beautiful too!"

"In the redevelopment area of downtown. Walking distance to Container Park, Freemont Experience, Downtown Hotels & Casinos. Can walk or bike, cool."
