6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLiberty is an amazing school with great leadership and teachers. It is a college prep school and my son will be graduating with 9 AP college level classes. The counselors are top notch and help the kids with an academic plan beginning in 8th grade. The sports teams regularly take 1st or 2nd place in the state demonstrating a very close team dynamic and commitment both on the part of the athletes and the coaches. The student council is a dynamic group of kids who plan regular activities and events, from various spirit weeks to movies on the field, decorating gingerbread houses, foodie fests, senior sunrise breakfast on the field, and much more. Like anything your child will get out what they put into it, but there is a ton of support in an my area they may need.Parent Review1y ago - Del E Webb Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don’t know what these other students are talking about with guns and drugs, but my experience here has been decent especially with the teachers. I am in 8th grade with a 4.0 gpa in the highest classes. The teachers are very nice to me, there has actually been a decrease in fights from years prior. I am the nerd/jock so I talk to all kinds of people and some of the kids can be really rude for no reason but if you hang around the right people you will be fine. I’ve played on the Dw soccer team and basketball team and they have been great experiences. The only down side is that other kids aren’t as gifted as me so they struggle with grades and the students can’t get their grades up unless they have on of the few teachers that actually go in depth and stay before and after school to help studentsStudent Review3w ago - Steve Schorr Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile some of the teachers at this institution are kind and seem to have a genuine care for the students and their education, there are some staff members that have made our experience at Steve Schorr less that pleasant. There was an incident involving my daughter about a month ago or so, and while my 8-year-old daughter was in the wrong in this particular situation, the principal did not witness the actual event and exaggerated the story, even after her teacher explained what had actually happened, (my daughters teacher has never had an issue with her and has even expressed how great of a student and "on task" she is in her class). I now have zero trust for the principal because of this experience and assume whatever is said to me, moving forward, that everything she says will be fabricated or exaggerated. While attempting to have a conversation with her, she continuously cut me off and proceeded to speak over me, rather that listening to what I had to say. There was an incident that took place yesterday as well, I was picking my kids up early for appointments, and the assistant principal asked to speak with me in her office, all while my daughter is sobbing, I assumed it was something serious. She pulled me into the office to tell me that my 8-year-old was not staying on task, along with a few other students...this is not an emergency, nor do I feel that requires a trip to the assistant principal's office. I feel like they could have used that moment to educate these kids rather than scorn them for being kids.... this is an elementary school, and these children are not always going to be able to maintain focus and discipline.I absolutely think they should be doing their assignments and not playing when its "work" time, but I think some of these staff members forget that these are just small children and that they work in an elementary school. We have had issues with this school since my children have started, there has been bullying from, not just fellow students, but also from some of the staff. Some of these staff members, maybe shouldn't work in an elementary school if they have a constant issue with kids being kids and lack patience and understanding to approach them differently. With that being said, there are a few lovely teachers and staff members that care greatly about these kids, and I greatly appreciate those individuals.I really hope the rest of the year can be a better experience than what it's been thus far.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 24 Canopus Ridge Way.
