2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy niece goes here and It breaks my heart. She is always on the look out to not be defending herself. Her mother has complained to several people and nothing has been done. She can't even focus on her grades she has been attacked several times. I can see why the grade for the school is a 3 on great schools but, in my opinion any school who doesn't do anything to mediate the kids into a healthy solution should not be working with children.Other Review9y ago - Rio Grande High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at the school was horrific. Throughout my tenure there I was enrolled in pre-college classes. After graduation and the real world hit me I was so incredibly angry at the lack of preparation I received. I had to work 10 times as hard as my peers (most of them were from college pre HS IN ABQ) but it was more of review for them compared to something completely new for me. For example, calculus was not even offered to RG students. I had to take it during the summer so that I could get into the college that I wanted. Most basic college entrance classes I tested out of or A/P BUT that was only because my parents invested in rigourous after school tutoring, all three years of summer school for classes that were not offered or because I wanted a higher grade than what I earned so my GPA was accepted by decent colleges. Rio Grande failed me and if we not for my sole determination, my parents and a handful of dedicated teachers I’d be nothing more than a statistic. Shame on you.Other Review6y ago - Coronado Elementary School

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
