As a student of this school I hold proper insight as to what it is actually like. While this school ranks high on the lists it is rather because of the backgrounds of students more so than the actual educators. From talking to students around the school throughout my three years, nearly every conversation has started like this "I only got two hours of sleep last night because I was working on..." or "I only got thirty minutes of sleep last night because I had to teach myself the entire curriculum". I find that these sort of conversations are good indications of the educators and the types of students which is actually why this school is making it on to the lists as high-ranking. But the educators themselves often leave me and my classmates wondering, "how the f*** did you get this job". Additionally, the majority of the student body is high throughout the school day because they vape in the bathrooms, and the school somehow has not figured this out yet despite the large groups of kids going into bathrooms together. Not only this, but the students are mean and rude, and there is no effort to become a better person or community. Seeing how other schools in the state of New Jersey operate, sure there are bad teachers, but this just brings it to a whole new level. This coming from a student who had to teach herself the entire curriculum of not one, not two, not three, but four honours classes and an AP class, because the educators couldn't figure it out. If the representatives at Northern Valley Old Tappan Regional High School are reading this, please stop asking for student feedback if you continually go against it. We, the student body, are BEGGING to be heard and to be helped. This is not okay, and never will be.

We are so happy with the school. The school has experienced a remarkable transformation under the joint leadership of two new principals. In conclusion, the addition of these two dynamic principals has ushered in a new era for our school, marked by positive changes and a commitment to excellence. We are grateful for their leadership and look forward to continued growth and success under their guidance.
