"Maplewood is a unique suburban town. Under 30 minutes on the express train into Manhattan. Plenty of interesting people. Very liberal politics compared to other surburbs. Wonderful community pride and activity. For New Yorkers looking to move to the suburbs, it is hard to beat Maplewood. In short, a highly desirable place for families to live. "

"Maplewood, and the Midland Park neighborhood especially, is built on a diverse, family-friendly group of neighbors. Children play in the street and on the boulevard on warm evenings, people are out walking their dogs, exercising and chatting with their neighbors. If there was such a thing as Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, this would be it. What brought us to Maplewood was knowing that we would be surrounded by people with close ties to the city—the diversity we loved living in Brooklyn is alive and well here... Gay families, multicultural and multilingual families from around the world, create the "city feel" in the space and quiet of the suburbs. And the Midtown Direct express train is a very quick 35 minute commute into Penn Station., SOPAC and the Papermill Playhouse offer great entertainment, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Maplewood and South Orange, great shopping both in town and at the Short Hills Mall make this a really convenient and fun place to live."
