3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in the dual language program, and my daughter is in PK 3. The teachers are supportive, and eager to educate our kids. They make a real effort to push our kids to learn, but in a way that makes learning fun and approachable. The paraprofessionals, security guards, and crossing guards are also wonderful--you can tell they really care for our kids. The PS5 community as a whole is working together to continue to make the school better. The PTA is amazing, and is always working on fundraisers for school trips, grants, and the beautiful garden.Parent Review10mo ago

"It is easy to commute to NYC from many places in JC. From Journal Square, Downton, Newport, and other neighborhoods accessible via light-rail to then take the Path to 33rd or WTC. We love downtown JC but unfortunately we are going to move next year. We will miss this place! "

"1. there are some drug attics that break into our cars . 2. there are people that park around here that don't live in this area. 3. the drug atticks have broken the windows or pick the locks on my car and neighbors cars. 4 we live in low income housing and we don't have zone parking for a reason but unfortunately people that don't live near by and don't want to pay for parking were they live come around here and take up parking making hard for the ones that live here....😒😔"
