5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI learned the principal doesn’t care how every kid feels. And that ‘leadership’ message has passed down through the school. I don’t think I am overreacting anything! Kids should feel included, especially when that’s the place they spend the majority of their day!Parent Review6mo ago - Gilbert Avenue Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a grandparent of a student, I have no problem with their education. But picking up a kid from this school is terrible. They let Middle and high schoolers to hang out in front of doors to pick up their siblings instead of their parents. You can hear any kind of cuss and curse in front of little elementary school children. Many parents had complained about this issue but seems the management or the school district did not want to take any actions.I saw many times parents had to take actions to tell older kids not to curse or act appropriate.Parent Review1y ago - Sixteenth Avenue Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are bound to send our child to this School District. Some of the teachers are very discriminative and don't like to communicate for any problems your child is facing because of a different ethnic background. This is the worst school I have ever seen in terms of education and providing services for a deserving child . They don't want to help a disable child and don't leave any chance to humiliate him because he has a learning disability and a physical one. They will not provide any help or documentation where they think it's not necessary to provide. Don't be trapped on their verbal communications. They don't deserve to be a school. Every employee tries to protect another in this pool of school district. I have seen worst time of my life dealing with this school. Teacher won't contact you or will not answer if your child is on the verge of failing. They won't tell what necessary steps could have been taken to save your child from getting bad grades or will offer any support. Look at their cold faces and attitudes!Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 133 17th Ave.

"They would like. Elmwood Park has a dog park. Has dog swings, toys and dog fountain. If you don’t like dog park you will always see somebody out walking their dog."

"I’ve lived here for 24 years (my whole life) this town is slowly getting better over time. They’re really trying to clean it up and make it nice. They even added a dog park with little obstacles! The schools aren’t terrible but the HS is pretty bad. They do nothing to prepare you for college. They don’t even care if you fail. No one is really there to help you (but that can change, I graduated in 2014). Neighbors aren’t all too friendly, but it’s a cute and diverse town with some nice people. Close to major highways and lots to eat around here. "

"lived here going on 3 years. the neighbors are friendly, I commute in public transit with some from the surrounding houses. A lot of young families love around us and we run into our kid's friends from school a lot and we've gotten to know some of the parents. For a narrow street residential street we get a lot of vehicle and foot traffic (including kids on bikes, skateboards and scooters) and with that I feel safe. "
