2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBelleville (New Jersey) Public Schools are HORRIBLE to say the least. There is little to no communication between school and parents. The learning environment is dysfunctional. The curriculum is all over the place and fluctuates every school year. Children learn on electronics, there is little to NO work done on paper. They use electronics/apps to “communicate” with parents but more than one platform is used for parents to view grades, school assignments, communication with teachers, etc.. The children (especially at the High School) are treated as inmates not learners. The students are 1 or more grade levels behind in academics. Guidance counselors guided my child(ren) to community college and not to aim higher. Parents have no voice and neither do the teachers that care. They do not mis-communicate when it comes to community events but parents are UNIFORMED and oblivious to the little things happening in school i.e. report cards/progress reports/parent conferences. There is a bridge that needs to be gapped and SERIOUS issue in conducive communication to improve the district.Parent Review4mo ago - Belleville Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has had a great experience at BMS. They have before and after school tutoring and intramurals. There are a lot of clubs including the winter sports club where there is a three week skiing trip every year. The administration is very receptive to parental concerns.Parent Review1mo ago - Belleville PS10

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is supposed to be the best one in Belleville. The school is clean, it has a nice playground, and good principles and teachers. I would say where this school falls short is the student to teacher ratio. The classrooms are too large to allow them to be conducive to learning without distractions. The classrooms should be split into smaller groups. Where this school also lacks is proactive communication with parents. Parents are blindsided when their kids are not meeting grade level expectations. All of a sudden, you get letter they are being recommended to be retained in the same grade. The classes are so large that there is no individual attention. Second grade is where is all falls apart. Is it the teacher....is it the curriculum? You're guess is as good as mine. PowerSchool doesn't sync correctly so that the parents can monitor their child's progress proactively.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 59 Willet St.

"I've lived here for over 13 years. It is still a great place to live in. Brookdale which is what this region is called is still the best place to live in Bloomfield. With all of the gorgeous upscale apt buildings and homes that are being built, it's no wonder it's considered the next Edgewater, NJ."
