N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is definitely above the average school in the country. This comes not only from the people that work there but also from the community. The kids are well behaved, bad behaviors are consistently discouraged, teachers and students use modern technology, the classrooms are well supplied, the love for reading is promoted, parents are always welcome to volunteer, teachers greet every student in the morning and welcome them in the building. Every parent has different expectations from the educational institution and one can always find negatives. This school, although not perfect, has many more good points than bad.Parent Review12y ago - Columbia Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child has been a student at Mountain Park for the past few years. The quality of the teachers is inconsistent, some are fantastic and others are average. The principal is terrible. He is unresponsive to parents and unconcerned about the students. The schools caters to the special needs students to the detriment of the other students. Special needs students are permitted to disrupt classes and harass and threaten other students with apparent impunity. The facilities of the school are adequate. We moved to Berkeley Heights for the school system and so far are very disappointed with what we are finding. With respect to Mountain Park, we feel that a majority of our concerns would be addressed by the removal of the current principal.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 971 Mountain Ave.

"A great town for families, CNN/Money Magazine recently named Berkeley Heights as #6 in the "Best Places to Live in the United States - Best Small Towns." The criteria for evaluation focused on smaller places that offered the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community. New York City is just a train ride away and the town has easy access to 78 and the GSP. "

"Great for families. Not appropriate for anyone without kids largely due to lack of social life w/o kids and high property taxes. Love this area though."
