3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a staff member, I am truly embarrassed to have any association with this school or district. I have no idea why anyone would choose to live in Manchester and send their children to schools like Parker-Varney. This city and this building will try anything to get the test scores up immediately (dump money into Chromebooks, Ipads) except, you know, hire enough teachers to keep class sizes down, or hire enough paraprofessionals to keep behaviors from special needs/behavior needs students from disrupting the entire classroom. This is also a school that for years, no matter who the principal is, seems to hire new staff members based on personal biases. Student teachers are selected for positions over certified teachers with actual experience. And a startling number of classroom teachers simply do not know how to teach, or just cannot be bothered to, and waste quite a bit of time with witch hunts and vendettas against other people in the building. After years of seeing this school in action, I would never send my kids here. This school is unsafe. Dangerous behaviors are not addressed and allowed to fester and escalate. "Sidewalks are small but there is very little traffic all in all a good place for a dog. Now I’m just saying random things to use up the character count. "

"I work five minutes away from our current apartment, so it’s not bad although I run into traffic on the highway a lot of the time. By husband works about 25 minutes away, almost all highway. He doesn’t get stuck in traffic much since he works very early and gets out a couple hours before rush hour. Other times of the day, there is usually a lot of traffic and/or construction. "

"There are a ton of drug addicts, random drunk people who will ask for money and then yell at you when you don't have any. A 24yo was shot near my house even though we are right behind a high school. You hear gunshots. There is litter everywhere. My neighbor got knocked out by a guy shooting up in our yard and the police didn't believe her because of where we live."

"It’s an ok neighborhood, loud neighbors though. The asking trail leads across the bridge which is nice for walking the dog and watching the fireworks"
