Lacks diversity in student and teacher population. However lots of transplants from all over the country and massachusetts is changing that. Better communication between school and family could really improve student outcome. Great school with plenty to offer all types of students.

I type this as my wonderful child is miserably texting me from CMS, begging me to come pick them up. My child hates every day spent in this building, and this is a kid who, by all accounts, should be thriving and loving school. Excellent grades, loved by teachers, and one of the lucky ones with a "friend group" (my older child wasn't so lucky and their experience here was even worse). There is very little to inspire the children here. Nothing to help them feel excited about school, or proud of what they're learning. No field trips, nothing. It makes me feel sick and sad that this is our only option for middle school.

East Kingston Elem. has a wonderful staff who knows each child by name. The small school has the feel of a private school and just received a prestigious award as an outstanding elementary school. I have 2 children currently attending and they absolutely love it. The school is constantly offering new experiences such as enrichment classes sponsored by the PTO (such as yoga, Legos, zumba), musical instrument lessons, foreign languages and a 5th grade week-long science camp (which all 5th graders attend). The school also has on-site solar panels which teach the students about solar energy and provide power for the school! A very fun, supportive and progressive environment!
