4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are good but tend to forget that children like structure. They are worried about teaching to the lower level & bringing them up, they forget about the rest. While the teachers & Principal are very friendly, the PTO leaves a LOT to be desired. It's their way or the highway. Don't even bother to make suggestions because your just ignored. While my Kindergardener did great the second half of the year, my first grader slipped. You can't expect a first grader to be solely on an honor system, to turn in one's homework (if they do it) if they want to. They need structure & reminders. We are very involved parents & it felt like we alone in this journey. While the people are friendly & the principal is a very good leader, the teachers need to remember they are teaching elementary & shouldn't teach down to the class. That only brings the middle students down or even worse, makes them bored. The PTO needs to remember they don't run the school. take suggestions and be open to change. Parent involvement -----non existent for the most part.Parent Review11y ago - Waverly High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Waverly Middle School and I truly believe that it helped take my education to the next level. As a recent high school graduate I can give credit to the excellent educators at WMS for helping me develop proper study and work habits to carry me through the rest of my academic career. A hot topic among parents and educators these days is the importance of instilling "grit" in students. Grit is characterized as drive and determination to succeed. I think that grit is emphasized in every aspect of a Waverly education. During my time at Waverly Middle School I was pushed both in and out of the classroom. The teachers care enough to hold students accountable, which is important as they move forward in their education. Coaches have equally high expectations of athletes. Waverly also has a PHENOMENAL music program. I would highly recommend involvement in the Waverly band and choir. The only complaint I could make is that there is little variety in extracurricular activities. I think it would be beneficial for students to have access to a wider variety of sports and/or clubs, but it is a small sacrifice when you consider what you DO get at Waverly Middle School.Other Review9y ago - Check out schools near 11041 Rocky Ridge Rd.

"Clean and quiet. It is far from town but we have lots of the essential stores near by. Walking trails are all around and people use them frequently. Nice parks and playgrounds. There are ponds for fishing as well. Traffic in peak driving hours is not terrible but you will definitely need to give yourself an extra 10 minutes or so. Overall we love living here and we stay because of all of the nice qualities that this area has to offer. If you are looking for something close to the highway or interstate you should look elsewhere because this place is definitely not that. "

"I have lived here for a year and I haven't had any issues with my neighbors, no vandalism, noise is contained and tolerable. Majority of people stay in their own space and mind their own business which is what I like the most about this neighborhood.
