No one is perfect and there are always opportunities for improvement; overall they do a really great job. We have a special needs child and a child not requiring services both in typical classrooms and doing well. The school is safe; the engagement of the "watchdog" program is awesome and an added perk to keeping our children safe. Care plans in place for children with specific medical needs; we have been on the receiving end of the seamless care provided by the RES family during a true medical emergency. My daughter came from a highly-rated public school in Northern Virginia and academically has fallen behind in this school. 2. One of her girlfriends from a minority group was bullied. 3. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. "A real sense of community. We all look out for each other; never is it as obvious as when the last bad storm came through. Everyone was out the next morning helping to clean up tree limbs and leaves from the entire cut-de-sac, not just their own yard, sharing tools, equipment and man power. "
