4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe lack of communication between the VP and Principle is astounding. To start, I introduced myself, and the vice-principal said, oh, so you're the big dog? What is that supposed to mean? I recently had an issue with my son and another student. My son was suspended for two days without having any problems before this, minus minor stuff. Yet, when I talked to the VP, they didn't seem to care about my child's needs. I had expressed several times to the principal and VP that my son is going through medication changes. We are currently waiting for a psych eval, and so far, the system has failed him in getting him tested. Even the school said we don't or can't test him because of lack of personnel and the same issue last year when I requested my other son to test for an IEP. I am currently seeking a psych eval. Instead of being understanding and supportive, the administration said, we are treating this no different as if your son brought a gun to school. Keep in mind that my son is five and did no physical harm to the other student. I have asked several times to speak in person with the VP or Principle to no avail. I showed up this morning, and the person at the door said they were helping in the car lane couldn't speak to me right now. I emailed the school on Friday to set up a time to talk to them about what happened. This was at 5:12 pm Friday. I still don't have a response back from anyone. I emailed again this morning, and still no response back. I even left my cell number. Yes, I understand that my son isn't the only kid in the school, but If a parent shows his concern, It's important to address that parent rather than ignore him.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Hoke County High

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI recently moved here from California, and I was expecting a great highschool that would be much better than the ones in my previous area, but much to my surprise, the place is genuinely awful, dirty classrooms, disruptive environments and constantly I worry for myself here, fights are incredibly common, recently and incident happened where a group of students were pepper sprayed due to one student bringing a small can, a large group of people were harmed and even bystanders were hit by the spray. And I can't even begin in the massive drug problem inside the school, anytime of day you'll see groups of students filling up bathrooms and smoking pen vapes and normal vapes in almost every single bathroom and educators here simply enable this awful behavior by not even caring, sure the place has great programs and whatnot, but it is physically impossible for me to even focus with how disruptive classes are, and educators don't even EDUCATE, they just put an assignment an a computer and you do it, you don't even learn a single thing by the end of the day, its mentally and physically exhausting being at this school, I would do remote learning if I could. TLDR, great programs, awful community and educators, great for neurotypical people, terrible for those with mental disorders such as autism and ADHDStudent Review8mo ago16 Reviews - West Hoke Middle

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI HATE THIS SCHOOL WITH A PASSION DON'T COME HERE EVER THEY WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE< THEY BULLY PEOPLE,AND THEY JUST TALK ABOUT PEOPLE FOR NO REASON I WISH I NEVER CAME TO THIS SCHOOL BECAUSE THEY HAVE RUINED MY LIFE THE THREE YEARS I HAVE BEEN HERE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU WELL BEING AND THEY DON'T LIKE TO SEE YOU HAPPY,THIS SCHOOL IS A DISASTER ADMIN DOESN'T EVEN MAKE THINGS BETTER THEY ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT THEIR REPUTATION THAT THEY LIE AND SAY THAT THEY TAKE CARE OF PROBLEMS BUT THEY NEVER DO, THEY LET PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH THINGS JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT THEY CAN AND ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE,SO YOU GUYS IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF OR YOUR CHILDREN DON'T ENROLL THEM INTO THIS SCHOOL.Student Review1y ago7 Reviews - Sandhoke Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is currently a sophomore SandHoke early college high school. He is a very smart kid & pretty good student who ALWAYS completes his work although at times not to his greatest ability. Now, at this school he has flourished, he had grown in maturity as well as academically. While he still doesn't LOVE going to school (what teen does) he doesn't want to miss a day. He comes home telling me all that he has learned and has a new eagerness to learn. He has 2 college classes he has just started and I can just see the pride he has when he tells people he is taking college courses and will graduate with a diploma & an Associates degree. Unfortunately, we have just found out that we will be relocating VERY soon to another area with a poor school system. As heartbreaking as this is we may consider having our son stay behind with family because he loves his school. So, as rambling as the review may be just know this...my family would highly recommend this school. Im just sad that my soon to be middle schooler will be missing out on this opportunity.Parent Review11y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near Silver City St.

"Downtown few blocks away. People are friendly. Lots of family things to do outside . Houses are in shortage because everyone likes it’s quaintness. There a good mix of people from all walks of life. There is quite a bit of fast food but I would say a shortage of good sit down restaurants. The closest is about 15 minutes away"

"Not far from the city but far enough away to feel like you live in a country setting. Not a ton of crime but officers are slow to respond when there is crime. Grocery stores aren’t very far and there isn’t city taxes to pay. "

"Not bad. Traffic tends to pick up pretty heavy in some places. Close to base, so traffic really picks up in the evenings between 5:30-6:30. Fairly close to any and everything. Time of arrival just depends on how many res lights you get caught at. "

"Educational wise, I'd say for 4th-11th grade look into A non-public school, ( Academy, Christian, private, online). Due to the limited area, growing population, half fraction amount of buses, minor lack of school classrooms & teachers, classrooms maybe a little crowded, an of course every child should have the attention they fully need and deserve. However, only some schools in the location are able to offer such great standards. IF your child goes to a school in the area currently, I recommend summer school for a few weeks, maybe a few online courses to keep their mind pumping with useable knowledge! 🌎 -A couple of the year-round schools are also pretty decent. ---With that being said, I'm not taking anything away from the great teachers that do an amazing and brilliant job with ALL of our kids out here! after all, it's our fault for the shape and struggles that these kids AND teachers go through! WE have to HELP THEM, So THEY can TEACH OUR kids!"
