4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had a child at Eastern since 2011. We have had a wonderful experience. My oldest has gone on to excel in middle school as well. My other two children wake up excited to go to school each day. They love their teachers and their friends. I could not have asked for a better experience for my children.Parent Review6y ago - Junius H Rose High

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a graduate of JH Rose and both of my daughters also graduated from there in the last few years. Rose is a very challenging school that has way more AP courses than any other high school in Pitt County. The school also is one of 30 something schools public or private in all of North Carolina that is an AP Capstone school. Rose received this qualification because of the amount of students who receive very high scores on their AP exams. Each year over 6 million dollars is offered in college scholarships and students go to colleges all over the country including many Ivy League schools. Many of the teachers who teach these courses have their Masters degrees and know how to teach the courses correctly. Rose has a great sports program and great programs in the arts. The only Honors Orchestra program in Pitt County is at Rose and the band has won many state awards. The theatre program along with a local news channel won an Emmy for a commercial they collaborated in. The Mock Trial program and Robotics program have both won state and national awards. I could go on and on with the awards won by groups of students and individual students at this school. There are a large number of students attending Rose from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and the school has put several programs into place to mentor these students and it is making a difference.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 1702 Bloomsbury Road.

"This neighborhood is is easy access to local restaurants and amenities. The city has great colleges with top notch educators. For the most part this neighborhood is safe and quiet. However, I wish that neighbors would not let their dogs run off the leash. This is an accident waiting to happen."

"Beautiful neighborhood in the dead center of Greenville. It’s a great location because you’re near everything… but you’re also surrounded by the busiest roads county. If you buy a house here, make sure you aren’t on the main entrance and exit roads.. otherwise you’ll always have cars flying by your house "

"I have been here for thee years and I love the neighborhood. People are friendly and watch out for each other. I had a lost cat and a lot of my neighbors were out looking for her. It is a great place to walk or ride your bike. We are close to several grocery stores, shopping and the mall. There are many great restaurants close by. "

"I lived in this area for a little over 3 years. The area was mostly quiet, although gunshots and fights would break out occasionally at various apartment complexes in the area. We liked being close to the greenway and the dog park, but college kids don't keep their dogs on leashes and it resulted in my dog and I being attacked several times (she was unharmed each time luckily). This area is a low-cost living area to get your foot in the door until you can get something better. Dog owners be wary of apartments close by and college-aged kids with dogs. "

"What commute? Lynndale is dead center in the middle of the city. Since Greenville is still a 15-minute city on her busiest days, that puts you 15 minutes away from everything, even on Black Friday."
