7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFVHS is an amazing school filled with kind and compassionate teachers and admin. My final child will be graduating and we leave the school with great memories. This school is uniquely community. With most students residing within The same zip code these kids build life long bonds as they send each other outside of school. Fvhs offers rigger with a large offering of AP courses as well as full support for CCP which allows students to take college level courses. Great sports teams with the award winning OC school spirit squad. FVHS has an impressive arts arena, several state champion sports teams…and an awesome new campus. We are proud Bengal alumni who are excited to watch FVHS continue to soar. And we will continue to root them on from the bleachers , auditorium seats.. or online opportunities #RollBengalsParent Review1y ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Banks Road Elementary

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children in their 3rd year at Banks Rd Elementary. It has been a very good experience for our family. My children have connected with each teacher they’ve had and are enjoying school. As a parent, I have been impressed with all of the teachers and staff I have gotten to know. The only (small) downside I am aware of at this time is that funding seems to be a bit on the low side here. They do a LOT of fundraisers through the year, and the kids only get two field trips per year, and one of those is an “in-school” field trip where they don’t actually leave the campus. We transferred to Banks 3yrs ago from Cary Elementary, where they got 4 field trips a year, and could walk next door to the community art center for additional enrichment experiences. Coming from that, there is a noticeable drop in enrichment opportunities. Overall, Banks Rd Elementary is a very good school with fantastic teachers, a good AIG program for gifted students, great Specials instructors and several clubs that meet before or after school to offer additional opportunities for students to pursue their interests and passions.Parent Review5y ago - Holly Grove Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are trying to decide between this school and Holly Ridge, Holly Grove has much better behaved children. I have subbed at both but my kids went to Holly Grove. They would have hated Holly Ridge. Too many chaotic kids. I like the overall vibe here much better. It’s not perfect. Kids get away with some stuff but the staff cares and is doing what they can without being drill sergeants.Parent Review1y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review1mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

"There are a lot of off leash dog walkers in the area (most dogs are well trained but still) and nobody picks up poop. "
- Bekahjaeger

"Plenty of dogs but lots of no poop signs. People are generally friendly towards dogs here. There is a small path behind our neighborhood good for walking."

"This is a very safe area that was ranked as one of the safest cities in America. There are plenty of nice parks for walking or riding. Easy commutes to RTP, shopping or downtown Raleigh. Many conveniences nearby for anything you need. The schools are very good. Most importantly I feel the curb appeal is far above average, neighborhoods are kept up and people are friendly. We’ve lived in 7 states and two countries and chose this area for our retirement! Housing is still fairly affordable but rising fast! "

"Our neighborhood is unique because we freely offer a sense of community to every resident. We are a career military (retired) family and have lived overseas and in numerous states over the past 35 years, many of them being lovely areas. We have never lived in a friendlier, more well-kept, safer, more respectful neighborhood."
