The bullying is so terrible that my daughters come home crying everyday, begging me to homeschool them. There are definitely favorites at this school. My daughters have gone to councilors, principles, etc about the bullying and they do nothing. When my daughters finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to fight back they were the ones that got suspended. The principle was stupid enough to tell me that my daughters have gone to the guidance councilor about the bullying but that the councilor was not able to speak to the students in time before my daughter finally lost it and attacked a boy that has been bullying her since day one. Everyone in the administration assistant is in transferring from another school, with very welcoming assistant above and beyond what anyone could expect! The teachers immediately assisted our student to assist him not only welcoming him to the school, but helping him with his academic goals and course work! The teaching staff seems very excited to be part of each child’s development, and eager to assist them even after class or at the end of school. Academic success is great, with every teacher ensuring students know the material and not just how to take a test. Outside environment is great, with most of the students all participating and assisting other students in sports. I can’t say enough about how glad we are to be here!Parent Review3mo ago

"My family and I really enjoy this area and feel very safe. We enjoy the restaurants and of course the beach. There are fun putt putt places and an aquarium. It is very laid back and quiet here, however there are some things to do."

"Emerald Isle, and particularly Lands End gated community is a friendly place for families, singles, young marrieds, and retirees. We have a very active social committee that plans and presents over the top events, great security, etc. Every street has it's own charm...no need to live on the beach to enjoy it with our beachfront pool, clubhouse, overlook, and access!"

"We permanently retired here this summer. Wanted to be near the beach and the inter-coastal waterway. Love that we can walk or bike anywhere. Restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater are all within walking distance from our home. The town is well-kept with landscapers. Beautiful beaches."

"Emerald Isle is a diamond in the rough. The zoning makes for excellent resale as most of the properties are in the X zone. The cost of insuring the properties is less than surrounding coastal communities. It is easy to get around on Emerald Isle. One can bike to just about anywhere. Emerald Isle is a safe community and very family friendly. Swansboro is just a short hop away and has many restaurants and shops."
