N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has gone to this school for 4th and is currently in 5th grade. He has definitely flourished here. I chose 4 stars because his 4th grade teacher could have communicated his assignments better to me. She really pushed them to be individually responsible for themselves, which I understand, but I think she went a little too far at times. I don't like how they depend so much on technology, but that is just a personal preference. I love all of his 5th grade teachers. They make sure he is challenged, even with him being ahead of most of his class. He has never had a too much homework the whole time he has been at Odell. There are tons of extracurricular activities available. They even allow kids to do clubs during school. Overall, we have had a great experience.Parent Review5y ago - Harris Road Middle

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids hated this school. We live in Highland Creek. We are not a wealthy family, and can only JUST afford to live there. My kids always felt inferior here because they didn't come from a wealthy family. They didn't have new and brand name stuff all the time, etc. It's a super snobby school, period. Also, the children I adopted were both passed through here with completely failing grades. They were given diplomas, allowed to "walk" at graduation, etc. None of my kids were properly prepared for college or even for graduation. "I have lived in this neighborhood for eight years. The people on my street are friendly and caring. Kids of all ages play outside together and are respectful of each other. There is a very strong sense of community on my street, and by far the best neighborhood I have ever lived. The bad part is the city continually clears nearby forest and farm land to add mostly apartments and rentals which drive down property valuse. Those who live outside of my subdivision also use our streets as a cut through and speed through the neighborhood throwing garbage and running stop signs. The city also refuses to improve existing infrastructure, so the schools, roads, and businesses are severely overcrowded. Because of this overcrowding and lack of planning from the city/county, our community has reached its apex and is beginning to decline. As such, we will need to move within the next five years."

"Moss Creek is an excellent neighborhood for families with kids. There are very good public, charter and private schools in the area. Shopping and restaurants are plenty within a 5 mile radius. The biggest mall in NC (Concord Mills mall) is only about 10 minutes away. I-77, I-85 and I-485 are accessible within minutes."
