9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been in this school for 5 years and we will surely miss it. All the staff knew my child and were friendly to us too. Lots of parent support equaled lots of nice perks for the kids. I do wish there was more than one counselor though.Parent Review6y ago - New Hope Elementary

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two kids at New Hope Elementary school in Chapel Hill, one in kindergarten, the other in second grade; both are in the Spanish immersion program. They love the school, I love the school. They are learning Spanish quickly. They have a good and expanding Stem program with a junior Lego/Robotics and coding program I am impressed by. The PTA is strong, the library is amazing, and kids seem very happy.Parent Review1y ago - Cedar Ridge High

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has had three principals in the four years my kids have been there. The current principal is not available to speak with parents. If you have any concerns, she’ll ignore your emails or assign you to speak with another administrator who is also new. You will be given a chance to speak to the other staff person but you will never be given a response. Teacher turnover has been significant due to poor governance by the three principals. The quality teachers have left. Teachers that remain have no oversight by administration and therefore kids do not learn. The scheduling process is abysmal with kids getting the wrong classes or classes they have no interest in. Getting the schedules corrected is nearly impossible as the school has plenty of administrators but no guidance counselors. Support for students wishing to go to college does not exist, again no guidance staff. It is unclear to me what all the administrators do but their time is not spent getting to know or supporting the students. Athletics is biased towards boys. Simple things like posting game schedules do not include girls sports. Managing coaches is not actively handled by the athletic director. There are no on site safety measures taken for kids competing in sports other than football.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 3806 Stoneycreek Rd.

"Your days will be less difficult if you’re at all able to avoid the rush hour windows of 6:30-9:30am, lunch hours, and 3-7pm. The congestion is ridiculously thick, and at this point of heavy convergence: Fordham/15-501, Hwy 54E&W/Raleigh Rd, and an on/off ramp for I-40 less than 2 miles away, the roads are absolutely overwhelming now. Do expect traffic to quadruple (at the VERY least) as soon as just a handful of new developments reach completion. UGH!!"

"I nanny in the area, my two kids have lots of playdates and my neighbors are pretty awesome. The area is residential, no college students really, and a short 20-30 min walk to whole foods, traders Joe's or Harris teeter. There's also University Mall, and a movie theater so lots to do on a pretty day. I've lived in this area for 12 years. Raising a family here and I love it."

"They would fit right in with all the other dog owners. I’m not one though. Some yards need fences. Dogs are a lot of work, and sometimes your friends won’t want them coming along for dinner as part of the social contract. In short, I don’t want a dog, but lots of others around here do."

"there are so many people walking their dogs and a dog park!! lots of super dog friendly trails around, too. "
