6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are incredibly happy with the teachers my two kids have. The teachers are attentive and address any issues my children bring up. I read a few comments below which mention bullying and the lack of dealing with that. On two occasions my kids, who are in separate classrooms, were bullied and the teacher talked to my child, the child that did the bullying, and notified me of what happened. The issue was resolved to my satisfaction. We love our teachers and the new principal.Parent Review6y ago - Chapel Hill High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt’s a shame most reviews here are so outdated. The principal described in the old reviews is long gone. Her replacement, Mr. Blanchard, was a fabulous principal who was admired and respected by students, teachers, and parents. Unfortunately for us, he retired this year. The district is engaged in an exhaustive search to find the right person to be the next principal. The bar is very high now. I have a rising sophomore and another who graduated during the pandemic. I can’t say enough about the way the teachers and administration do everything they can to support students and help them succeed. Both kids have had the same guidance counselor and she has always been very responsive and helpful.Parent Review9mo ago - Unc Hospital School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery welcoming when my daughter began in 2/17. I saw her blossom overnight at Smith. She has improved in every class. She made the A/B roll and she struggled at her last school. I'm very happy with the school and the staff.Parent Review6y ago - Northside Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFour words for parents of children with special needs. Advocate For Your Child because no one will. At the same time, the school is vibrant and historically meaningful. We felt the school was decent, and not all teachers were concerned. Never my experience as a parent is of my thoughts. Every child must thrive in a supportive environment with teachers who understand the importance of engaging parents in the child's learning. Not just at the IEP meeting, where a parent is informed of the child's progress. Whatever happens to weekly progress reports? I am disappointed because I didn't see passion as the leading force but mediocrity in my child's classroom. If the parent (I) was not taken seriously, I don't think my child's experience was.Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 106 Eugene St.

"Cute little neighborhood, you might run into one or two other dogs when you go for a walk. Some neighbors do let their dogs run around and bark in the front yard which causes my dogs to stir "

"I live near this neighborhood. It's very calming, but I have heard that there is some petty crime at times. It's within walking distance of the town of Carrboro, and has a nice small town feel about it. It's right near the old Johnny's Bait shop which has now become a cafe of sorts. It is also near a nice cafe called The Looking Glass Cafe, as well as the Carrboro Town Hall and Park across the street where a number of neighborhood festivals are held. Great neighborhood, but I am not sure about young children on that particular block which seems to be populated by singles and retirees."

"This is a really great neighborhood. The Bolin Creek forest is a short walk and there are tons of trails back there. Very little traffic and everything is close by. "
