3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFeel like being lost all the time and not having an idea of what is going on with your children’s school? Then this is the school for you. No one responds to you if you reach out- not teachers, administrators, or counselors. They are not welcoming at all and the PTSA doesn’t help that feeling either. They had a ton of staffing issues and the students barely knew what was going on and the parents were kept in the dark about that and all kinds of things. If you try to talk to anyone about this, IF they even respond, they act like they listen but nothing changes. This has been the worst experience in an academic setting for both of my kids. I’m not sure what we are going to do next year because it is literally that bad. We worry about the quality of education they are getting. The sports program is not great either, so no saving grace in that department. I wish there were some redeeming qualities, but we have found zero. My kids cannot wait for this year to be over to maybe reset. I do not recommend this school- if you have other options, by all means, TAKE THEM.Parent Review9mo ago - Middle Creek High

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMiddle Creek has its pros and cons. I would say around half of the teachers are excellent, and the other half to put it simply, are not. The bathrooms are nasty, but I guess that is to be expected. The school is relatively safe, although "stuff " is used. There are good sports, and extracurriculars, such as theatre, and clubs. The equipment in the classrooms is pretty old and out of date, and some is entirely damaged. For the most part, the kids here are kind, but of course, some people can be mean. I would say, all in all, Middle Creek is a fine school.- Current Middle Creek MustangStudent Review1y ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Banks Road Elementary

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children in their 3rd year at Banks Rd Elementary. It has been a very good experience for our family. My children have connected with each teacher they’ve had and are enjoying school. As a parent, I have been impressed with all of the teachers and staff I have gotten to know. The only (small) downside I am aware of at this time is that funding seems to be a bit on the low side here. They do a LOT of fundraisers through the year, and the kids only get two field trips per year, and one of those is an “in-school” field trip where they don’t actually leave the campus. We transferred to Banks 3yrs ago from Cary Elementary, where they got 4 field trips a year, and could walk next door to the community art center for additional enrichment experiences. Coming from that, there is a noticeable drop in enrichment opportunities. Overall, Banks Rd Elementary is a very good school with fantastic teachers, a good AIG program for gifted students, great Specials instructors and several clubs that meet before or after school to offer additional opportunities for students to pursue their interests and passions.Parent Review5y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review1mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll teachers are very attentive and helpful especially Principal Baker during this pandemic. We are very lucky to belong to a school who treats the children as their own.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 2601 Whistleberry Ct.

What Locals Say about Apex

"The neighbors will look out for each other and help find lost dogs or otherwise help each other. It is mostly quiet - I like the wildlife. Sometimes the roads seem a bit congested and not likely to get better. The location is perfectly far enough away from the city but not so far as to be considered remote. "

"I love where my husband and I live in Apex. Kids ride their bicycles and play with their friends after school and on the weekends, our neighbors are friendly and we’re located so conveniently to HWY 1 (goes to Raleigh, Cary), shopping, dining and downtown Apex. There’s a farmers market every Saturday or Sunday in the summer times. This place has a great feel. I love living here. "

"I love the area. The folks are nice, diverse and sociable. There are a fare number of restaurants in the area and a Walmart. It’s a crappy Walmart but it something. That and the fact that you have to have a car or at least a bike are the only two downsides. "
