    "Bought on EdenShire in 2000 & now selling/moving . I grew up in a rural area & expected this to be a starter home. 14 years later, here's what I'll miss the most: COMMUNITY: When 1 of our kids have a problem, I've seen all parents in yard discussing how to handle it-CIVIL. The kids are close, their issues matter to each parent/resident. Elderly here too because of simple lawn/home upkeep-LOVE them Safety: We get A+ insurance rates because the Police and Fire Depts are SO CLOSE. I'll miss my public servants. Trash ppl even get Can when I forget! Our new Mayor is A+. Traffic: We're right near a busy road, but on the West end, traffic is always light. Further East, it can be a beast, & we rarely need to tackle it. Convenience. Cops, Fire, City Hall are all within a short walk. ALSO: there's a park, walking path, gas station, community garden, ball field, and library, all within a safe 2-5 min walk. This has made tight times easier, entertainment wise. A bigger park is roughly 0.7 miles away. Our city is VERY safe, the schools are great, YET ours is a blue collar area. This means my total mortgage is $419 a month, escrow included. At its current price (comparable in our town) the mortgage won't hit 350. The cost alone is a GEM. The freeing up of money give travel/saving freedom, but it ALSO means that if the market drops again, Renting is DOABLE. Average rent is $750-875 on my road-$650-975 is about average for All HL, depending on the size & such. So if your home doesn't sell fast, renting it for double the note & at a competitive rate? Heck yea! Location: I already mentioned short walk to places -that applies to all of Horn Lake; you can easily walk anywhere in this zipcode-but also, we're 5 minutes from Memphis, -10 to Graceland, 15 to Zoo, Museums, Beale, etc 15 to Casinos in Tunica & MS River access, Pools, boat ramps, & 5-20 minutes TOPS, in traffic, to all our County's cities-their food, music, doctors, +. I'll MISS conveniences I'm spoiled to-&my neighbors."

It is completely surrounded by other cities and can no longer grow in size, which to its residents delight makes for a formula for better growth in the happiness and comfort of its citizens. There are many great people who grew up in Horn Lake who have went on to be rather successful, so its medium household income holds no bearing on it bearing great people."
