5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is in kindergarten this year at Willard South and this will be her last year at this school. The curriculum seems to be on par. She is learning a lot and really likes her classroom environment. However, in this school, you are NOT allowed to walk your child to their classrooms. I was told that this rule wasn't for safety reasons but because some students might start missing home and cry. Okay, fine. Whatever. The teachers talk down to you and make you feel like you don't know how to raise your child. When I've emailed or called the school with questions I was either ignored completely or passed off. I think I'm a loving mother and I truly care about my child's education. When a parent has a question about what a government funded elementary school is teaching or how they work with a child then answers should be readily provided. One question I had in particular was passed from the teacher to the principal to the superintendent and I still don't have an answer. I've been told by higher administration to just go back to square one and talk to the teacher, which resulted in silence and no answers.Parent Review9y ago - Willard Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe funding for the school is kinda iffy, they put more money into their mascots and unnecessary trips.Bullying, drug use, and violence are a huge issue here.Student Review2mo ago - Willard High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth our children have graduated from Willard High School. They were both extremely well prepared for very challenging university curriculum and were able to graduate with their degrees in 4 years. There are excellent opportunities for AP and Dual Credit classes, a variety of co-curricular clubs, and many athletic teams. My children had excellent relationships with the teachers...the staff is always extremely professional and helpful. This is an excellent school with a family atmosphere.Parent Review6mo ago - Willard Intermediate School

"There is a boys and girls club that provides activities and guidance for children after school. There is also many fine parks in my neighborhood area. The children can play ball and ride their bikes on my street without worrying about people running them over. The streets are posted with a speed limit sign that also warns drivers that children are playing. "

"Friendly neighborhood. Everyone is willing to lend a hand and looks out for each other. Not to far from local colleges, about 5 minutes away from OTC and MSU and down town. This area is a very convenient, central location of Springfield."

"A safe place to live. Affordable housing for working-class folks. Close to everything Springfield has to offer. Plenty of public transportation traversing the area. A short drive to major roads leading throughout the city and surroundings. I have never heard of any flooding problems in this area and the city utilities are well-installed and maintained. I have lived in many places across the USA and this area is among the quietest and safest I have lived in."
