I attend every parent-teacher conference, email, have one on one talks with the teachers and other staff and everyone I’ve encountered have been very pleasant and helpful. The teachers really want to teach and guide and not just show up for work. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool has been gutted of funding and community support by loss of attendance due to large presence of charter schools in area. School is not supported by district effectively to address behavioral issue, safety or special education. Teachers and staff fight hard for students here, get burnt out and then leave. If your kid has an IEP, I suggest changing zip codes, as SLPS does not have Special School District and does all their IEPs in house and support isolation of students with disabilities instead of integration. Lack of resources increases disparities among marginalized youth, students are actively going through trauma while in the building itself and there is only one counselor and one part-time Social Worker who have way too much on their plate. Probably one of the most violent places I have ever worked, and its an elementary school. School has been unable to get a PTO to form over the years, hindering their ability to involve parents and community.Other Review7mo ago

"We have many locals bars within walking distance with nice outdoor patios. We have bar crawls, golf carts ride the streets like a golf course, many small local parks and a beautiful community garden, 2nd biggest Mardi Gras celebration in the USA! "

"The atmosphere is truly unlike anywhere else. A community where people get together and play music in the park, walk their dogs, and ride golf carts through the neighborhood without fear or prejudice. You’re never too far away from a patio or takeout food. "

"As a dog owner I love all the dog friendly places to eat. There’s also a great dog park! I just don’t like that we can’t walk at night. Too much crime recently. "
