7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageParent to a sophomore. Every. Single. Day. Someone is caught vaping, the school is on lock down, the school is on a “hold” so the buses won’t leave. Girls fighting/pulling one another’s hair out all while students stand around recording. Class disruptions due to fights or unruly students. Buses being stopped because singular students are vaping and kids being forced to stay on the bus until staff “figures it out”. I don’t know how this school is highly rated in any scores, since moving here, my kids are bored. (Sophomore, 8th grade and 7th). Curriculum has plummeted and everything has turned into an “everybody gets a medal scenario.” This school is as trashy as they come. Thankfully, Park Hill South is an option.Parent Review1y ago - Prairie Point Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had an incredible experience at Prairie Point this far. My child is in 2nd grade and has an IEP, special needs. From day one this school's staff has been incredible, kind, and attentive. My child's team of therapists and SPEd teachers, and main teacher...so attentive to detail, intention, and care. Some teasing happened and it was nipped in the bud immediately. My child also has a lot of anxiety and everyone from the Principal, Vice Principal, to the school nurse and all the teachers and therapists were so helpful and supportive, working with us as a team. The school is clean, ordered, and there is always someone in the hall to guide the children or offer a hello. We have been seriously impressed with this school and though weren't necessarily planning on sticking around in this particular neighborhood, we feel that we just have to because the school has been so incredible. The only thing I wished existed was an "outside everyday" campaign for the Park Hill School district, supplying appropriate clothing for the children to be out doors in all forms of weather which I think is significantly important to a child's development and well being. (That's just me, coming from a Montessori/Forest School/ Waldorf inspired place.) I honestly can't say enough good things about this school. We are so grateful.Parent Review1y ago - Congress Middle School

"I currently reside in this same neighborhood. It is a great neighborhood with a mixture of people of all races and nationalities. It is safe for the most part, but there are a handful of homeless vagrants in the area. Although a decent area of Kansas City, I wouldn't have packages left in an insecure area as they do have a tendency to get stolen. Other than that, it is an area full of life, things to do and it is central to everything in Kansas City."
