Description
This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
This unique home is a 35' monolithic dome, located in a quiet community. Built with reinforced concrete, this dome has many advantages compared to a wood framed home. The Basement is completely encapsulated in reinforced concrete with 16' ceilings....basically a personal bunker! The main floor has an open Living and Dining room, Full Galley Kitchen, Full Bathroom, Utility Room (W/D,Furnace), and access to Basement. French doors off the living room lead to a beautifully landscaped patio and outdoor space, as well as a large storage shed. On the second floor you will find a master bedroom, another full bath, and second bedroom. A spacious loft area can easily become your home office or sitting area.
The home has central air and heat, though you will find it isn't needed very often as the home is SO energy efficient. On the very cold nights, a fire can be built in the wood stove which eliminates the need for central heat.
Monolithic Domes are HIGHLY ENERGY EFFICIENT, DISASTER RESISTANT, COST EFFECTIVE, LOW MAINTENANCE, and attractive.
The high wind resistance for a Monolithic Dome is rated at 200 mph, allowing it to withstand virtually any tornadoes. Several Monolithic Domes were in the paths of the 2004 series of hurricanes that ravaged Florida, and all survived intact. Having a dome shaped structure integrated with the foundation and floor, works to strengthen the entire structure as a unit and, therefore, makes the Dome highly resistant to earthquake damage.
Insurance rates for a Monolithic Dome are substantially less. Monolithic Domes are rated as non-combustible. Due to the Monolithic Dome's non-combustible rating and resistance to damage in other forms, risk to the insurance company is very small and premium savings of 75% or more are quite realistic. This issue should be discussed with your insurance company in detail to ensure that you receive the appropriate rate.
Lower total cost of ownership you'll have also includes heating and cooling bills. Cost reductions in energy bills of 50% to 75% are common among Monolithic Dome owners, compared to the equivalent size conventional home.
Exterior maintenance is minimal. Typical maintenance for trim around doors and windows is all that is necessary.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current student at the freshman center I happen to run into a lot of problems such as racism I also experience overcrowded issues almost everyday I get pushed down in the halls or hit by either a person or a backpack I also tend to get ignored in my school because I behave most of the staffs attention is directed to the misbehaving children it is a rushed environment I happen to experience issues with me being in "sped" and for people who do not know what that means that means I am a special education student with that I get made fun of by students because I am in sped classes but happen to have teachers that understand which does help. anther issue I have consists of not being cool so I don't get a lot of student attention I have one friend in this building and I am always bullied here so now I have gotten to the point that I document everything that happens to me in a day to show my parents what it is like to be in the freshman center. So my advice to incoming 8th graders is to watch your back be strong and you will survive after all its just one year Fro the "cool kids" you will fit in to the poisoness environment.Student Review10y ago - Check out schools near 43 Oak Hill Cluster.
