Within our neighborhood, we know of four families, including ours, who found it necessary to remove their child from Heritage to enroll in another school during the last several years. The administration and the district should take a closer look at the cultural problems inherent in this school. I would also suggest the district reevaluate its choice to use a middle school format for 5th grade. This seems rare and early for many children. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to create a welcoming environment and bring unique experiences to the kids. The ARTS curriculum and residency programming is very sweet. "Everything is in walking distance and their is public transit. This is a first ring suburb 5 minutes to downtown St Paul or all the shopping on Roberts St. There is a lot of parks in the area and the Mississippi River and Harriet Islam are also 5 minutes away."
