5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy oldest son started this year at the middle school and has done really well. The communication from administration has been great. Everything else seems to be driven from Infinite Campus, but I really expect that my son can manage his own daily relationships with his teachers at this point. If there are issues, I feel like I've been informed and educated on how to address them. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 4 children in the district currently in three different buildings. Our oldest is going to graduate this year and has excelled over the last 12 years as a result of passionate teachers and administrators. We have nothing but good to say about all of our kids teachers. Three of the 4 kids are been in athletics on multiple teams and the coaches have been excellent and very fair with playing time. The robotics program has been awesome! Some of the older posts on this site mention clothes and being outcasts. We haven't see that at all and our kids do not wear name brand clothing. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTransferred my child to this school from another school in same district with an extremely unsupportive and negative principal. The staff at Grand View is incredible. My child needs special supports and has made positive gains at Grand View that weren't possible at the previous school. The teachers at Grand View are allowed to state their opinions and be an offbeat or difficult child's champion instead of insisting the child with learning disabilities is unteachable and needs to be sent out of the district. Teacher difference between last year and this year is like night and day. My child's prior teacher was negative and irritated with him; the new teacher is positive giving regular communication and loving words. The principal and assistant principal at Grand View are phenomenal. Only con is it is a very large school and for the older children, there are "clicks" of kids. It was hard for my older child to find a comfortable fit. This wasn't an issue at the prior school but no doubt prepares my older child for middle school. GV is amazing and the staff truly cares about your child. Everything they have done for us, they have done with love and concern.Parent Review10y ago

"This is where I grew up, it’s a good place to live considering it’s in the city. Walking distance to lots of parks and ice cream shops. Splash pad at Lamar Park is fun for kids birthday parties too. "

"Cons- I have observed some neighbors do not keep dogs adequately enclosed, and so there is occasionally dogs running loose. Most seem friendly. Though this has also been true living in other neighborhoods. Pros- plenty of clean beautiful parks with trails for walking & biking. Poo bag stations and trash cans provided."

"There is a great charter school (Vanguard) in the neighborhood. Plenty of forests, trails and wildlife. Close to Target, Meijer, YMCA, Restaurants and daycare providers. Kent trails are close. Really nice area to live!"

"If you live in Chateau estates there is such a strong sense of community! Halloween parades, Christmas Eve road luminaries, neighborhood garage sales, neighborhood block party, and that’s just a few things we do here in this neighborhood. You really connect with people here!"
