2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere are all the reviews going? Well here is a great one. So my son videotaped himself being assaulted and got in trouble for videotaping it. This school is a complete joke. My oldest daughter got assaulted there by another student who was threatening her on social media and threatening to stab her if she walked home, nothing was done we pulled her out and put her in burr oak school. And now he gets punished for being assaulted way to go sturgis I know why you don't want kids videotaping what's going on there because you don't want it out in the public to see how bad you are failing. I'm not saying there isn't good teachers there but nobody is doing their job people need fired and things need to changeParent Review1y ago - Congress School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had thought the school was fine, especially since my son's kindergarten teacher did such an admirable job with a HUGE class of all-day kindergarteners (God bless her!) but I nevertheless felt like I was constantly hearing that he was being picked on or hit at school and he was falling in with a less-than-savory group of kids. By the time he got to first grade, I started hearing negative things about HIS behavior, too. When I would ask why on earth he would do the naughty things I was told he had done, he said other kids pressured him to. (And they were *bad* things--I was terrified!)I wondered if that was true or not, but I'm pretty sure it was because we moved to a more affluent neighborhood in a larger metropolitan area in another state and since then, I haven't heard one single negative report about his behavior from school. No complaints about bullying, either, and he's making good friends. There is much better academic support, too. I hadn't thought there would be a big difference in how much my child would thrive in different schools, given that I am college-educated and have always been careful to supplement with a lot of learning and reading at home, but I was so wrong! There is an almost night-and-day difference in his progress since switching schools mid-year--and switching mid-year isn't exactly supposed to be good for you.Parent Review1y ago - Sturgis High School
