4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRecently moved my children to the Shelby school district and have 1 child attending New Era Elementary. The staff and teachers are very welcoming. "Bullying" is taken seriously but not the focus of attention which is exactly what we were looking for!! The school/staff try to focus on education, academics and a positive attitude with everything!!! Can't say enough good things about the staff and community!Parent Review3y ago - Shelby High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers/staff are highly involved and work very hard to help every student meet their potential. As a student I've learned not to think on a strictly black or white scale and that the world is only as big as you want it to be. The teachers here are highly educated (for the most part) and it shows. Although I did not attend sports as an athlete here, the coaches have instilled great values on the athletes. The architecture is very open although the colors are slightly... off (the decorator was colorblind). Shelby works very hard on being sure the art program is funded and even when funding is low, the school has always been determined to keep as many opportunities open as possible. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageShelby has under gone some serious curriculum changes in the last couple of years and I can see the difference in my child's academics! He loves to go to school and loves being a Shelby Tiger! I am sad that he won't be there next year as the school only goes until 3rd grade. Loving caring teachers and Principal-really like a school family!!!Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 282 Walnut St.
