"I’ve lived here for about 1 year, the neighborhood is really nice; seems like the neighbors keep up on their yards well and are mostly pretty friendly. I wouldn’t say I’ve met anyone unfriendly, just some that aren’t as social as others. The houses are well kept on the exterior mostly. Despite being somewhat close to Detroit and the rap it gets along with some of Redford, this is a really nice area to live."

"Near a main thoroughfare (Telegraph Road) but isolated by a river that cordons off the area and creates a natural barrier for greater privacy. The tall trees and natural beauty of the Rouge River makes this area attractive to all kinds of wild life. It isn't unusual to see does with their fawns in our back yard as well as egrets, cranes and ducks that swim along on the river. "

"It's a good value for the sort of home you get -- sturdy, well-constructed. Property crime has been on the rise (house ransacked on my old street just last week), auto theft, and property values continue to fall. The neighborhoods can be hit-or-miss, depending on where exactly you are in Redford. I think the nicest area is around the country club, more so on the North side. You can find pockets of nice streets, though, all over Redford. Take the time to check out the neighborhood all times of day, and talk to the neighbors. Redford Union schools are pretty sketchy, with South Redford only being slightly better. I would not send my kids to these schools (I have taught in Dearborn, Livonia, and Wayne-Westland, so I know what I'm talking about). If the economy hadn't forced us out of Michigan, I'd still be living there."
