A dream property awaits you here in Northern Marquette County. 40 acres of high rolling terrain that sits atop a ridge line with Lake Superior views sets the scene for a gorgeous, modern log home. Wonderful attention to detail throughout this home provides a move in ready opportunity. The access to the property is via a private easement road about 1/4 mile from the year round County Road KR. Underground power and fiber line internet make this location connected but you'd never know that sitting on the deck overlooking the mature oak, pine, and hemlock forest with distant views of Lake Superior. It's hard to cover all the great features in a description and limited pictures, so be sure to view the virtual tour and drone footage. The home's main level features a large attached garage, covered entry way, screened in room attached to the dining room and deck, a bath with laundry, hard tile flooring throughout with in-floor heat, open living-kitchen-dining area with cathedral ceiling gas fireplace, two good sized bedrooms with a full bath between, and a lovely master suite that has a walk-in closet, huge bath with double sinks, tub, and walk-in tile shower. The master has huge windows and direct access to the large deck. In the basement you'll find all kinds of opportunity with a massive open space that has in-floor heat, insulated walls, windows and walkout french doors, and a plumbed/framed area for a bathroom. The exterior has a nice subtle stain, standing seam metal roof, rock pillars and foundation all the way around, and a large deck to enjoy the peaceful setting from. If that doesn't provide enough opportunity, there is a 40x60 pole building with three power overhead doors that has an attached "apartment" which is 786 sq ft with a kitchen, bath, laundry, wood stove, and bedroom. This space is functional separately from the home with its own septic, plumbing, and heating. A recently installed a solar system with battery bank and generator tied into the grid.

"This is a safe neighborhood, well maintained properties, nestled into the foothills of Marquette Mountain. Some lots abut a green strip with frequent sightings of deer and a variety of migratory birds during the summer months. Downtown is more than a short walk but is a reasonable bike ride away (warm months). Otherwise public transport is available from the front door. Snow plowing is excellent on Altamont and you can always get out during winter if you keep the foot of your driveway clear. Marquette has just the right amount of tourism to support a variety of sporting events and festivals during all seasons but not so much tourism that it feels like a congested bigger tourist area like Traverse City. There are a least three local micro-brewries, several good restaurants, and always entertainment, especially on weekends. Marquette is growing just enough to support continuous improvements and developments of its parks and attractions and there are at least two (three star type) hotels and along with a number of nice chain hotels for visitors. Downtown becomes almost magical in the wintertime with its snow-capped sandstone facades and "lit-up" trees. Being situated on a bay of Lake Superior makes Marquette one the the most picturesque small towns in the Midwest. "
